Alverno College to Hold its 140th Commencement on December 18 & 19
One hundred thirty-eight students will walk across the Alverno College Pitman Theatre stage (39th St. and Morgan Ave.) on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. to receive their undergraduate degrees. Thirty master’s candidates will receive their degrees from Alverno on Friday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in Alverno’s Wehr Hall, 4100 W. Morgan Avenue.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin with an 11 a.m. liturgy in the Alverno College Chapel, followed by a brunch for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Melissa Stanley, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; the undergraduate invocation will be given by Emily Joy Sielen, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Therapy; and the student address, “Be the Change,” will be given by Victoria Hill, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication.
The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Cheryl Meyer, who will receive a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education. A champagne reception will follow the graduate commencement ceremony. Sielen, Hill and Meyer are Milwaukee residents; Staley is a resident of Grafton.
