Thanks to all of those who made September 26 such an exciting and successful day in the School District of Greenfield. This date was marked by the Greenfield High School Grand Opening Celebration and Tour and the highly successful inaugural Greenfield Education Foundation Golf Outing.
An estimated 800 to 1,000 residents, supporters, alumni and others experienced the “new” Greenfield High School first-hand at the Grand Opening Ceremony in the new Performing Arts Center and during tours of the building. The Grand Opening Ceremony included congratulatory speeches and comments by Principal Darin Fahrney, School Board President Pam Sierzchulski, Superintendent Conrad Farner, Mayor Michael Neitzke, Eppstein Uhen Architects Senior Project Manager Robert Vajgrt and CG Schmidt President and CEO Rick Schmidt.
Highlights of the celebration included a video commemorating 50 years of Greenfield High School educational excellence, performances by the Greenfield High School Band and Chorus, a color guard presentation by the Greenfield High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a display of mementos dating back to the school’s beginnings.
The fun continued into the afternoon and evening with the first-ever Greenfield Education Foundation Golf Outing at Muskego Lakes Country Club. More than $11,000 was raised by the Foundation at this event on behalf of District students. Over 130 golfers played at this inaugural outing that saw an unprecedented amount of community support as exemplified by the event’s many sponsors and prizes.
Special thanks to the golf outing’s elite sponsors - House of Harley-Davidson, von Briesen and Roper Attorneys at Law, and CG Schmidt, Inc., - and to the many volunteers and participants that made the event such a success.
Thanks also to major sponsors the Horton Group, Mr. Z’s Pizza and Steve Adgate, Steve Schein of Herf Jones Photography, Farner F & I Solutions, Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Judith Baxter Certified Public Accountant, Cabaniss Law, Eppstein Uhen Architects, the Farner Family, GMAC Real Estate, Dan Jansen Family Fest, Kapur & Associates Consulting Engineers, PROCare Physical Therapy, the School District of Greenfield Administrative Team, United Health Care, Rent My Island, and National Insurance Services.
