Jim Frentz – The Coolest Agent in Town

Jim Frentz of The House of Insurance of Greenfield is an award winning, industry leading commercial insurance agent for small to medium sized businesses.

Some say that he’s The Coolest Agent in Town.

Jim will be writing a series of articles to inform business owners how the changing field of insurance can affect their business.

What made you decide to get into this business?
Jim has a degree in journalism & wanted to be a copywriter at an advertising agency, but he wanted something more out of life than writing and selling ads. A trusted friend advised him to look into the insurance industry. When he wrote his first insurance policy, he knew this is something he’d like to make a career out of. In fact, that first Client is still with him after 22 years. He began his career back in 1992 as a captive agent & then he became an independent agent at The House of Insurance in 1999.


Jim’s Strengths
Since he focuses exclusively on commercial Clients, he can do more in depth annual reviews than other agents & stay ahead of industry trends. Jim’s Clients have said that he is reliable & has quick response times – he doesn’t let any issues go beyond one business day. His Clients appreciate his availability since he gives his cell phone number out to anyone who requests it. Over the years, Jim’s Clients have described him as trustworthy, dependable & efficient. Jim always wants to do an honest, ethical job for all of his Clients. That way, there are never any surprises when it comes to insuring their business. Jim is a firm believer that the more benefits he brings to his Clients, the happier they are going to be with him & stay with him long term.


What separates Jim from the competition?
Jim believes “the key is always taking care of the Client needs first.” The knowledge & years of experience he brings to the table & the fact that he is both street & book smart helps his Clients worry less. He gets to know his Clients on a personal & professional level; Jim tries to cross promote his Clients to the community & his other Clients. Through his extensive network of business Clients, business associates & networking, he can help his Clients find a solution to most any need they have.

He is an advocate & defender of his Client’s business. This includes his meticulous attention to detail – he is dedicated to his Clients financial protection. Jim has a vested interest in their business & continued growth. All business owners that want to grow, he wants to grow with them. Because of Jim’s experience & expertise, he has helped his Clients with everything from insurance to the marketing of their business. He doesn’t view himself as an agent, but a trusted advisor. Every business must have trusted advisors including an accountant, attorney & insurance advisor.

As Jim describes it, he is “more than a captive agent, more proactive then a website or a 1-800 number.” Although a large majority of his business comes from referrals, a lot of his Clients come from business owners after they have experienced dealing with a captive agent or one that doesn’t respond in a timely manner to their needs.

Above all, Jim has lots of competition, but no competitors.




Products & Services
According to Jim, with the exception of health insurance products which are handled by their Janesville office, he provides “any & all product lines related to commercial insurance,” & working with small to medium sized businesses such as
• Retailers
• Restaurants
• Taverns
• Contractors
• Auto Repair & Body Shops.

Jim states, “The great thing about working for The House of Insurance is that we have hundreds of Clients in these specific industries & many insurance companies that have programs tailored specifically to them.” Jim feels the team at the House of Insurance is outstanding. What impresses him the most about the team is that, “every day, everyone exceeds what is expected of them. No one ever says ‘that’s not my job.” In addition, the office manager Elizabeth handles the majority of his personal insurance clients.


Jim Gives back to the Community
Jim was the former president of the Oak Creek Chamber of Commerce, & he has always tried to give back to the community.

He’s been active with PACE Networking Group http://www.pace-networking.com/ for over 14 years & been their leader for the last 8. According to their website, PACE Networking Group is a unique, independent business networking group that focuses on getting you warm referrals for your business & building business relationships with like-minded professionals in your area that will last for years. According to Jim, he likes “to help young professionals & established business people expand their network consistently.” They are always looking for qualified, new members.


Personal Information
Currently residing in Caledonia, Jim was born & raised in Oak Creek, has been married for 19 years & has 2 boys - one a senior in High School & the other is in 7th Grade. He enjoys attending his boy’s sporting events & loves to fish & hunt deer & pheasant.
