Central girls basketball
Mehryn Kraker scored her 1,000th career point for the Bulldogs in a 53-31 victory over Brookfield East on Friday night.
She finished with 17 points as Central earned its first Greater Metro Conference victory since mid-December. Claire Hankins added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who used a 21-10 third quarter to pull away from East.
Central also downed Milwaukee Hamilton, 54-27, on Jan. 17 behind another 17 points from Kraker, who hit a trio of 3-point field goals. Hankins put in 12 points and April Wildes six.
The Bulldogs, who improved to 2-4 in the GMC and 3-10 overall, welcome conference leader Sussex Hamilton (6-0, 10-0) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27, then host West Allis Hale (1-5, 2-10) at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the nightcap of a boys-girls doubleheader.

boys swimming, diving
The Panther-Hawks tallied 505 points for third place in the Kenosha Bradford Invitational on Saturday.
They trailed only Elkhorn (570) and Racine Case (536) in the meet, which featured scoring to 20 places.
Rick Perez won the 100 backstroke and swam with Ross Rybakowicz, Andrew Staszak and Adam Fleischhacker to prevail in the 200 medley relay. Adam Fleischhacker, Shaun Fleischhacker, Shaun Lucchesi and Rybakowicz took first in the 200 freestyle relay.
Rybakowicz took the silver and Perez the bronze in the 200 individual medley, while Rybakowicz was second in the 100 breaststroke, missing first by only 0.02 seconds.
Staszak placed fourth and Lucchesi fifth in the 200 freestyle. Adam Fleischhacker was fourth and Shaun Fleischhacker sixth in the 50 freestyle, and in the 100 freestyle, Adam was eighth and Shaun fourth.
Staszak and Lucchesi were both in the top six in the 500 freestyle and Zach Hogan took sixth in the 100 backstroke. Hogan was also 10th in the 100 butterfly.
In diving, Liam Duffy was fifth, Wil Kivlin sixth and Jake Howard 15th.
"To place swimmers in the top six in all but one event, and almost sweep the relays with two firsts and one second, made this a great meet to help set up the rest of the year," coach Dale Schrank said.
Hale wrestling
The Huskies went 3-1 in the Tom Janssen Invitational at Wauwatosa West on Saturday.
They topped Waukesha West, 54-15; South Milwaukee, 56-24; and Manitowoc, 42-33; and fell to Lake Geneva Badger, 37-16.
Going 4-0 on the day were Luke Ellis at 120 pounds and Trevor Kruzick at 113 pounds. Finishing 3-1 were Andy Moyle (138), Logan Mocco (152), Taylor Tomczak (160) and Andrew Buelow (170).
Hale also dropped Sussex Hamilton, 38-27, in a Greater Metro Conference dual on Jan. 19. Winners were Josh Petrovich (10-2), Moyle (7-4), Mocco (pin in 5 minutes, 37 seconds), Tomczak (pin in 3:15), Jack Allen (14-5), Buelow (7-3), Jeremy Shimetz (pin in 49 seconds) and Ryan Vankerkvoorde (pin in 1:45).
Greenfield girls basketball
Jill Dworschack put in 19 points and Alyssa Walker 10 as the Hustlin' Hawks downed St. Thomas More, 43-39, on Friday night for their first Woodland Conference victory of the season.
Greenfield went out in front 11-4 after one quarter and held on from there.
The Hawks dropped a 39-34 game to Brookfield East on Jan. 17 despite nine points from Walker and eight from Tania Alvarez.
Greenfield, which came into this week at 1-9 in the Woodland and 3-11 overall, visits Pewaukee (9-1, 10-2) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and welcomes Cudahy (8-2, 10-2) on Jan. 31.
Greenfield boys basketball
The Hustlin' Hawks battled a strong St. Thomas More team before falling, 57-54, on Friday night.
Sonnie Wilbert tallied 15 points, Ricky Santiago and Josh Czerwinski nine apiece and Nick Jablonski eight for the Hawks, who fell to 0-10 in the Woodland Conference and 0-13 overall.
Greenfield hosts Pewaukee (7-3, 8-5) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and travels to Cudahy (1-9, 3-10) on Jan. 31.
West Allis swimming, diving
Sam Lustig claimed third in diving with 332.8 points, Ray Mayek fifth with 288.55 and Devin Deering eighth with 237.75 for the Wave at the Menomonee Falls Invitational on Saturday.
Coach Tim Locke said notable swims were turned in by Nathan Pavek in the 50 freestyle (26.94 seconds), Mike Montalvo in the 100 freestyle (1 minute, 2.14 seconds) and Mike Manlick in the 100 backstroke (1:16).
"The guys are still dropping times during peak yardage," Locke said. "This sets them up nicely for taper."
The Wave tallied 59 points for ninth place in the meet.
Greenfield wrestling
The Hustlin' Hawks took 12th place with 12 points at the Highlander Invitational on Friday.
Dominic Kroll came in sixth at 145 pounds, Tyler Dorfner seventh at 152 and Victor Castro eighth at 138 pounds.
Hale boys basketball
Travis Balcerzak scored 12 points and Steve Acker eight, but it was not enough as Menomonee Falls dropped the Huskies, 66-42, on Friday night.
Falls star J.P. Tokoto tallied 26 points to break the school's all-time career scoring mark during the game.
The Huskies also lost to Union Grove, 64-50, on Jan. 17 as Steve Kopet collected 12 points, Derrick Waller 10 and Nick Sotiros nine.
Hale (0-7 in the Greater Metro Conference, 3-10 overall coming into this week) welcomes Marquette (1-6, 2-9) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and travels to West Allis Central (5-2, 9-4) at 6 p.m. on Jan. 31.
Hale girls basketball
The Huskies fell to Menomonee Falls, 54-22, on Friday night in a Greater Metro Conference game.
Rachel Seefeldt scored eight points to lead Hale, which slipped to 1-5 in the GMC and 2-10 overall. The Huskies visit Divine Savior Holy Angels (5-1, 8-3) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and travel to West Allis Central (2-4, 3-10) at 7:30 on Jan. 31.
