CENTRAL BOYS GOLF
Senior Eric Owens will lead the Bulldogs in the 2014 season.
"Eric can put up some low scores and will need to be consistent to make a run at (WIAA) sectionals," head coach Jim Dunham said.
Juniors Donavon Dykstra and Adam Schroeder will be other regular varsity players.
"Donavon and Adam are trying to shoot bogey golf and with hard work and commitment, should be able to accomplish that goal," the coach said.
The Bulldogs, who play in a Greater Metro Conference mini-meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Blue Mound Country Club, are looking for players to fill the four and five spots, Dunham said.
WHITNALL BOYS GOLF
The Falcons must open this season without their top seven players from last season, who all graduated.
"We are definitely in a rebuilding phase but hope to finish in the middle of the pack," said head coach Craig Austin.
Returnees include senior Brett Abramczyk and junior Tyler Merritt, who saw some varsity time for last season's squad, which took second in the Woodland Conference behind WIAA state team qualifier Greendale.
Other varsity candidates include juniors Tyler Schalla and Austin Jenk and sophomores Austin Brault and Kyle Radavich.
