Greenfield's Molter makes Midwest second team
Greenfield graduate Alec Molter enjoyed a solid season for the Carroll University men's basketball team, which played in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Molter, a 6 foot-7 inch sophomore forward, made second-team all-Midwest Conference after leading the Pioneers in scoring at 14.3 points per game and rebounding at 8.4. He hit 57 percent from the floor and blocked 46 shots.
His season high for points was 27 against Grinnell and his high for rebounds was 14 against Knox.
Carroll finished 17-10 overall and 10-8 in the conference during the regular season. The Pioneers got hot in the postseason, downing Lake Forest College, 77-70, and St. Norbert College, 87-65, to win the MWC Tournament.
That put them in the NCAA Tournament, where they beat 16th-rated Transylvania University, 84-74, on Friday but lost to 22nd-ranked Wittenburg, 87-70, on Saturday.
