Junior Bulldogs claim basketball invite crown
The West Allis Central Junior Bulldogs seventh-grade boys basketball team won an invitation-only tournament in Waunakee on March 24-25 with a 6-0 record.
The team beat the Wizards AAU squad by 15 points, fifth-rated La Crosse Central by five, 11th-rated Madison Memorial by four, third-rated Madison East by 19, Wisconsin Academy by 22 and top-rated Middleton, 43-42, in overtime.
Team members are Immanuel McCarty, Payschame Jelks, Griffin Johnson, Dashey Moore, Kirk Kurer, Alex Rivera, Xzevyance Pope, Brandon Barr, Carlos Davis and Collin Basgall. Coaches are Matt Barr and Barron Johnson.
