Greenfield boys continue cross country success
Hustlin' Hawks grab second at Franklin Invitational
The strong season continued for the Greenfield boys cross country team at Saturday's Franklin Invitational.
Greenfield tallied 119 points to claim second place in the 12-team event, trailing only Verona's 62 points.
The Hustlin' Hawks beat Woodland Conference foes Whitnall (seventh with 164 points) and Pewaukee (eighth with 168).
Casey Sabinash placed 14th in 17 minutes, 14 seconds, followed by Andy Sabinash in 15th (17:16), Dylan Kumbera 17th (17:29), Tom Friedbacker 36th (17:59), Quinton Kufahl 37th (17:59) and Brandon Dachowski 72nd (19:15).
Earlier this season, Greenfield won the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational, so this was the second high finish for the campaign.
The Greenfield girls came in 11th with 305 points. Megan Theune-Baillargeon led them with 43rd (22:13), while Leslie Hoffman ran 52nd (23:11), Natalia Coralic 64th (24:33), Maya Schroeter 72nd (25:49), Nicky Hansen 74th (26:07), Charlotte Baerhold 75th (26:16), Kaitlin McClanahan 76th (27:40) and Corina Miracola 80th (29:02).

"We only ran eight girls, and the race distance was 5,000 meters, not 4,000," Whitnall head coach Mike Thompson said. "Of the eight girls, seven had their best times ever for 5K."
The Whitnall boys came in seventh with 164 points. Alex Richardson took fifth (16:45), Tyler Nape 21st (17:42), Seth Nowak 29th (17:52), Matt Paruzynski 34th (17:58), Blake Stencil 75th (19:45) and Nate Fronczak 76th (20:14).
