Central girls soccer
Erminia Garcia scored three goals as the Bulldogs downed Greenfield, 4-0, on Friday night.
Garcia tallied three times in the first 14 minutes as Central took a quick lead. Kayla Andres put in the fourth goal in the second half.
Central lost a 10-0 game to Wauwatosa East on May 3.
Whitnall girls soccer
A 3-0 victory over Greendale on May 3 was the highlight of a 1-2 week for the Falcons.
Dana Steffen scored early in the contest and added another goal off an assist by Maddie Harycki. In the second half, Ashley Markowiak beat a defender and put in the third goal.
The Falcons lost to New Berlin Eisenhower, 6-1, on May 5, with the lone goal coming near the end of the first half by Markowiak.
Whitnall (7-4-1 overall and 4-2 in the Woodland Conference going into this week) fell to Sussex Hamilton, 4-1, on Friday. Steffen had the lone tally, assisted by Tina Gaggioli. Steffen ended the week with 10 goals and 11 assists.
Greenfield boys tennis
The Hustlin' Hawks tipped Whitnall, 4-3, in a Woodland Conference dual meet on May 3.
The score was tied at 3-3 and third singles player Adal Chohan rallied to win in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, for the deciding point. Other winners were the first doubles team of Patrick Stemo and Austin Jacobsen, the second unit of Jordan Tian and Zac Stelse and the third group of Mike Riley and Eric Cope.
The Hawks lost, 5-2, to West Bend East on May 4 despite victories by Stemo and Jacobsen and Connor Lewandowski at second singles.
Greenfield also fell to Wauwatosa West, 4-3, on May 5. Kerby Vargas won at first singles and Stemo and Jacobsen at first doubles.
The Hawks closed the week by taking third in Saturday's South Milwaukee Invitational with 21 points.
Whitnall boys tennis
The Falcons dropped a 4-3 dual meet to Greenfield on May 3 despite singles victories from Alex Dundas, Andrew Dundas and Shane Murphy.
They also fell to New Berlin Eisenhower, 4-3, on May 5 - their fourth straight defeat by that score.
Alex Dundas placed second at first singles in Saturday's South Milwaukee Invitational. The team tied for fifth with 14 points.
Hale girls soccer
The Huskies lost a 4-0 decision to powerful Divine Savior Holy Angels on May 3.
They were also blanked, 2-0, by Waukesha North on May 5.
Hale boys golf
The Huskies lost on a tiebreaker in a dual meet with New Berlin Eisenhower on Friday after both teams shot 177.
John Zilles carded 43, Pat Heal 44, Eric Baker and Joey Ouellette 45 and Danny Imp 54.
Hale came in seventh in a Greater Metro Conference mini-meet on May 2 at Westmoor Country Club with 193 strokes. Zilles shot 45, Baker 47, Imp 50, Heal 51 and Ouellette 56.
Central boys golf
The Bulldogs shot 494 to place 17th in the Port Washington Invitational on Friday.
Billy Schaning carded 88 on nines of 45-43, while Zach Richardson had 90 (47-43), Kyle Schulz 105 (56-49), Eric Owens 105 (57-48) and Dominic Craig 106 (52-54).
Central was eighth with 202 strokes in a May 2 Greater Metro Conference mini-meet. Schaning posted 46, Schulz 49, Richardson 52, Craig 55 and Owens 60.
Greenfield boys golf
The Hustlin' Hawks came in fifth in a Woodland Conference mini-meet on May 3 with 180 shots.
Ben Torkilson posted 43, Nick Conatty 44, Mike Hensiak 45, Chris Henckel 48 and Dalton Wicker 49.
Greenfield was fifth again in another Woodland mini on May 5 as Hensiak shot 41, Torkilson shot 45, Conatty 49, Henckel 49 and Aileen Geis 53.
Whitnall boys golf
The Falcons were third with 167 strokes in a Woodland Conference mini-meet on May 3 as Tyler Zientara was meet medalist with 36.
They were sixth in another mini-meet on May 5 with 184 shots and posted a 364 total at the Janesville Invitational on Saturday. Zientara fired an 82.
Greenfield girls soccer
Yarely Vital scored a goal but the Hustlin' Hawks fell to Cudahy, 3-1, on May 3.
Greenfield also lost to West Allis Central, 4-0, on Friday night despite solid play from Abby McIees, Kaitlin McClanahan, Hope Gueller, Jimena De La Pena-Sanchez, Courtney Doxon and Kathryn Fletes.
The Hawks also fell to Wauwatosa West, 10-0, on May 5.
West Allis tennis
West Allis came in sixth in the Oconomowoc Invitational on Saturday.
The team lost to Oconomowoc, 6-1, with the second doubles team of Ty Bauer and Nick Marshman winning; to Sussex Hamilton, 5-2, with Jeff Saeger and the Bauer/Marshman team prevailing; and to Waunakee, 5-2, as the team of Zack Zadjel and Travis Balcerzak and the unit of Ryan Pederson and Kong Yang won.
West Allis also dropped 7-0 duals to Wauwatosa East, Marquette and Shorewood last week.
Central boys track
The 300 hurdles team of Jacob Reuter, Nick Truog and Tyler Mastropolo and the pole vault unit of Luis Navarrete, Robert Keaton and Nate Keaton both took thirds for the Bulldogs in the Greater Metro Conference Relays on May 4.
The Bulldogs were seventh with 40 points.
One-run games proved difficult for the Bulldogs, who lost four games that way.
They started with a 1-0 loss to Divine Savior Holy Angels on May 2.
Central then fell to West Allis Hale, 7-6, on May 3. Sierra Brown had three hits and drove in one run.
Next was a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Sussex Hamilton on May 5. Brown had three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.
The Bulldogs beat Waukesha South, 25-17, in the Racine Park Tournament on Saturday, but lost 9-1 to Shoreland Lutheran and 13-12 to Park. Brown, Halie Weigel and Brittany Neibuhr each belted home runs, with Brown driving in 10 runs.
Greenfield boys track
Matt Brendemihl, Robert Hopefl and Taylor Wirtz teamed to win the triple jump with 113 feet-1 inch at the Woodland Conference Relays on May 3 at Greendale.
Earning seconds were the 300 hurdles group of Ryan Manzuk, Wirtz and Kyle Schahczynski (2 minutes, 13.8 seconds) and the 800 relay unit of Reggie Blakely, Bathong Pham, Richard Kusisto and AJ Howard (1:35.23).
The Hustlin' Hawks scored 38 points for seventh place.
Greenfield was also 11th with 26 points in the Myrhum Invitational at Hartland Arrowhead on Friday. Blakely claimed third in the long jump (20-7).
Greenfield girls track
Ella Skillings, Jill Dworschack, Tania Alvarez and Michelle Garner won the 800 sprint medley in 1 minute, 54.93 seconds at the Woodland Conference Relays on May 3 at Greendale.
Skillings posted the second-best individual long jump with 15 feet-9½ inches, and taking second as teams for the Hustlin' Hawks were the 800 relay squad of Skillings, Dworschack, Alvarez and Garner (1:50.07) and the 1,600 squad of Skillings, Dworschack, Camara Gregory and Garner (4:19.2).
The Hawks were seventh with 35 points.
Garner won the 300 hurdles in 45.44 in the Myrhum Invitational at Hartland Arrowhead on Friday.
Central girls track
A limited Bulldog team placed eighth with 27 points in the Greater Metro Conference Relays on May 4.
"Injury and illness have devastated us," coach Steve Paske said.
An example is the 400 unit, which included Kiki Poore, who is running with a pulled hamstring; Alex Jonas, who is battling a torn quadriceps; and Sami Chaulklin, who has been ill. That team took sixth in 55.78 seconds.
The shot put team of Gabby Coto-Valentin, Ashley Sturm and Raquel Coto-Valentin came in second. Gabby Coto-Valentin threw a personal-best 30 feet-5¾ inches and Sturm had a personal-best 30-4, while Raquel Coto-Valentin hit 28-4½.
