Spaghetti dinner dished up to help pay teen's medical bills
Middle-schooler diagnosed with inoperable cancer
Greenfield - Peter Kuenzi, 13, an eighth-grader at Greenfield Middle School, got an earache early this summer that wouldn't go away.
His doctor prescribed antibiotics, and his dentist looked into whether his teeth might be causing the problem.
But further testing showed that Peter has an inoperable cancerous tumor in the muscles in his jaw. He started radiation treatments and is undergoing chemotherapy.
His parish, Blessed Sacrament Church, 3100 S. 41st St., will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to help the family with medical bills. The dinner will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The event also will feature raffles.
Dinners of spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and homemade desserts also will be available to go. The cost is $10, general, $8, seniors, $4, ages 6 to 12. All proceeds will go to the Kuenzi family.
