Police Report: Sept. 4

BURGLARY

Jewelry was taken from a residence that was broken into in the 8900 block of West Forest Home prior to 2:50 p.m. Aug. 27. Police are investigating.

An unknown amount of money was taken during a burglary at Subway, 4166 S. 108th St., between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 29. A glass door/window was broke for entry into the restaurant. Additional information was not available at press time.

Copper piping and other items were taken from a residence in the 4200 block of South 79th Street prior to 1:35 p.m. Aug. 29.

Several items were taken from a pole barn in the 4800 block of West Loomis Road prior to 2 p.m. Sept. 2. The resident stated the theft took place sometime within the last two weeks.

THEFT

A 19-year-old man was arrested for employee theft at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27.

Two unidentified women took 12 cans of baby formula and clothing at Walmart, 4500 S. 108th St., at 2:38 p.m. Aug. 27. The suspects fled northbound on Highway 100 in a black vehicle.

A purse was taken from a vehicle parked at Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 7:20 p.m. Aug. 27.

Two laptop computers were taken from a residence in the 3100 block of South 46th Street prior to 11 p.m. Aug. 27. Police are following up with a possible suspect.

A cup holder containing an unknown amount of change was taken from a car parked in the 3600 block of South 32nd Street between the evening of Aug. 27 and 6:50 a.m. Aug. 28.

A clerk reported two unidentified females passed a counterfeit $100 bill at Party City, 5058 S. 74th St., prior to 2:25 p.m. Aug. 28. The suspects were described as two teen-aged black females with red hair and wearing tank tops, shorts and very high heels.

A CB radio was taken from a vehicle parked in the 4000 block of West Mangold Avenue between the evening of Aug. 27 and early morning Aug. 28.

A blue men's mountain bike was taken from outside Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., between 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Aug. 28.

A chainsaw, a hand grinder and a circular saw were taken from an unlocked truck in the 4300 block of South 72nd Street between 8 p.m. Aug. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 28.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting video games at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., shortly after 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29. The suspect was also charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested Aug. 30 for taking her grandmother's jewelry from her residence in the 7500 block of West Layton Avenue and then selling it for cash.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 4:20 p.m. Aug. 30.

A street sign was taken from the intersection of Honey Creek Drive and Whitaker Avenue between Aug. 27 and Aug. 29.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting groceries at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 31.

A woman's purse containing a credit card, a driving license and a cellphone was taken from a locked car parked by the Oak Leaf Bike Trail on 116th Street and Morgan Avenue prior to 8 p.m. Aug. 31. The front passenger window was smashed for entry.

A 51-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting merchandise at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 8:40 a.m. Sept. 1.

A Dell laptop computer and charging cords, a backpack, hats and a wireless broadband access device were taken from a locked car in the 4200 block of South 60th Street between 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 1. A window was smashed for entry.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing items in the cosmetics department at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., shortly before noon Sept. 1.

A customer's cellphone and wallet were taken at Pizza Hut, 4171 S. 76th St., on Aug. 31. The victim's credit card was fraudulently used at Pizza Hut approximately 15 minutes after he left the restaurant.

ASSAULT

A man reported he was beaten by several unidentified men during an attempted robbery in the 5100 block of South 27th Street at 3 a.m. Sept. 2. Police are investigating.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Forest Home Avenue and Howard Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. Aug. 28.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on 76th Street and Forest Home Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Sept. 1.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 37-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4500 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 9 p.m. Sept. 1. His preliminary blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 69-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) after an accident in the 4200 block of South 27th Street shortly before 3 p.m. Sept. 2. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

A 27-year-old Waterford man was transported to the hospital after he was ejected from his motorcycle when it crashed while traveling westbound on Forest Home Avenue from 84th Street at 7:07 p.m. Aug. 23. The driver did not remember the accident, and no cause was found.

A 49-year-old Milwaukee woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained after her car was rear-ended by another vehicle while she was stopped for traffic on 76th Street and Allerton Avenue at 11:53 a.m. Aug. 26. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 45-year-old West Allis man, was cited for following too closely.

An 83-year-old Greenfield man and his passenger, a 76-year-old Greenfield woman, were transported to the hospital with unidentified injuries after their car was struck by a vehicle, then struck a traffic control signal on Cold Spring Road and 60th Street at 1:18 p.m. Aug. 26. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 30-year-old West Allis man, then struck a third car stopped at a red light on South 60th Street. No one else was injured in the accident. The 83-year-old Greenfield man was cited for failure to stop for a sign/signal.

A 31-year-old Illinois man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after he struck a vehicle at the intersection of 43rd Street and Cold Spring Road at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 27. He was cited for no valid driver's license and failure to yield the right of way. The driver of the other vehicle, a 93-year-old Florida man, was not injured.

VANDALISM

A window was broken at a business in the 5300 block of West Loomis Road between the evening of Aug. 26 and 8:50 a.m. Aug. 27. No entry was gained to the building.

Tomatoes were thrown at a residence in the 6500 block of West Bottsford Avenue between late evening Aug. 27 and 8 a.m. Aug. 28.

All four tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 7000 block of West Southridge Drive prior to 8:45 a.m. Aug. 31. Police are questioning a suspect.

OTHER

A 72-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was caught using his cellphone to take pictures up the skirt of a female customer at Dollar Tree, 5002 S. 74th St., at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 27.

A forged prescription was passed at Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., at 11 a.m. Aug. 28. Police have a suspect and are investigating.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he allegedly touched the buttocks of a girl at Phil's Gas and Grocery, 6745 W. Forest Home Ave., shortly after 11 p.m. Aug. 27.

An anonymous caller reported seeing someone open a manhole cover and crawl into the sewer on Edgerton Avenue and Loomis Road at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 28.

An older male driver was seen as he got out of his vehicle and urinated in the street in the 3900 block of West Plainfield Avenue at 9:10 p.m. Aug. 28. An officer located the suspect, a 62-year-old man, and warned him about his behavior.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he allegedly caused a disturbance and took a beer at BP, 4715 S. 27th St., shortly after 8:30 p.m. Aug. 30. The suspect fled to the Suburban Motel, where officers took him into custody.

A resident called police after she discovered a dead owl with an arrow shaft through its body on her property in the 3800 block of South 104th Street shortly after 10 a.m. Aug. 31.

Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with three rescue calls between Aug. 27 and Sept. 2.
