Police Report: May 21

May 21, 2013

ROBBERY

· A 46-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for armed robbery after an employee called police to report a man with a gun was holding up the store manager at Petco, 4950 S. 76th St., at 9:20 p.m. May 13.

THEFT

· Money was taken from a soda machine in the lounge at Elmdale Elementary School, 5300 S. Honey Creek Drive, prior to 8:35 a.m. May 13.

· An unidentified man stole a woman's wallet in an office building in the 4800 block of South 76th Street at 11:15 a.m. May 13. The suspect, described as a taller, heavy-set black male wearing a dark green shirt, blue jacket and a baseball cap, had walked into an office and asked the victim a question about an attorney, then grabbed her wallet and fled down the stairs.

· Two males were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing clothing at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 8:50 p.m. May 13.

· Mail was taken from a residence in the 11600 block of West Chapman Avenue prior to 10:10 a.m. May 14. The resident told police his bank accounts are now compromised.

· Both license plates were taken off a vehicle in the 5100 block of South 76th Street prior to 10:30 a.m. May 14.

· Mail was taken from a residence in the 3600 block of South 104th Street prior to 10:40 a.m. May 14.

· Eleven 55-gallon drums filled with dirt were taken from Burger King, 4555 W. Forest Home Ave., between May 8 and May 14.

· A woman and a girl were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing items at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 7:40 p.m. May 14.

· An unidentified woman walked out with a cartload of unpaid merchandise at Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., at 2:10 p.m. May 15. The woman was later located at a motel in Franklin and was taken into custody for retail theft.

· A woman was seen shoplifting items by concealing them in her purse at Party City, 5058 S. 74th St., at 2:40 p.m. May 15. When confronted by an employee,she took the items out of her purse, placed them on the floor, and then fled the store when she was told to wait for police. The suspect is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds, in her late 30s with bleached orange hair and black roots. She was carrying a large black purse.

· Money was taken by a resident from Kindred Transitional Care, 5700 W. Layton Ave., prior to 2:55 p.m. May 15. Police are investigating.

· Two women and a girl shoplifted merchandise from Party City, 5058 S. 74th St., and fled in a vehicle about 8 p.m. May 15. Police located the vehicle and arrested the suspects. One of the subjects was also cited for receiving stolen property after police discovered a table computer in her possession that was stolen from a Wauwatosa high school, and the girl was also cited for obstructing police.

· A woman was arrested for shoplifting $177 worth of children's clothing at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at 11:20 a.m. May 16.

· An unidentified man and woman concealed merchandise and fled from Sally Beauty Supply, 4200 S. 76th St., at 5:15 p.m. May 16.

· A man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen cutting the cords off video game controllers and concealing them at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at about 11:45 a.m. May 17. He fled the store with another man in a green Eagle Talon. Police located the vehicle in the 2300 block of West College Avenue. Both men were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and were taken into custody.

· An unidentified man shoplifted a large amount of hair care products at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., before fleeing in a blue Ford Focus at 12:55 p.m. May 18.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

· A man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5900 block of South 27th Street at 2:45 a.m. May 15. His blood alcohol content was 0.013.

· A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen driving southbound in the northbound lanes of 108th Street at Beloit Road at 1:45 a.m. May 17. Police pulled the vehicle over in the Genesis lot, where the driver was taken into custody. His BAC was unavailable.

· A person was arrested for drunken driving after a cellphone caller reported seeing an intoxicated driver on South 27th Street and West Layton Avenue at 3:15 p.m. May 17. The caller said the driver struck the guardrail several times while driving on the expressway. Police pulled the vehicle over on South 21st Street and Abbott Avenue, where the driver was taken into custody. A BAC was unavailable.

· A man was arrested for drunken driving (fourth offense) on Forest Home Avenue and Howard Avenue at about 9 p.m. May 18. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

VANDALISM

· A window was damaged on a vehicle parked in the 6900 block of West Edgerton Avenue on May 6.

· A driver called police after someone in a white, two-door vehicle threw something that shattered his windshield while he was driving in the 12100 block of West Beloit Road at about 4:45 p.m. May 15.

FIRE

· A person was cited for an open burning violation after a resident reported a large bonfire was burning on the electric company right of way in the 8200 block of West Plainfield Avenue at 1:30 a.m. May 18.

OTHER

· A boa constrictor was found in the front yard of a residence in the 12000 block of West Layton Avenue about 11:30 a.m. May 15. By the time police arrived, the resident had the snake in a bag, which officers took to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Center.

· Several people were arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight broke out in the parking lot at Greenfield High School, 4265 S. 60th St., at 10:25 a.m. May 18.

· Two people were removed from Boyland Honda, 6141 S. 27th St., at 3:45 p.m. May 18 after they got into an argument with a manager, who was reportedly struck during the argument. and refused to leave.

· An intoxicated male was lying next on the ground after he walked into a tree and fell down at 76th Street and Cold Spring Road at 2:30 a.m. May 19. His girlfriend arrived at the scene and picked him up.

· Police arrested an intoxicated man at Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., for disorderly conduct after he became belligerent in the photo department and allegedly threatened to rob the store at 7:30 p.m. May 19.

· A resident in the 12200 block of West Morgan Oak Drive called police to report a week-old fawn was crying for its mother on his porch, but the mother was nowhere to be found at about 10 p.m. May 19. The resident told police he would hold the baby deer overnight and turn it in to wildlife rescue in the morning.

· Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with three rescue calls and one fire call between May 13 and May 19.
