ROBBERY

A 55-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested for strong-arm robbery after they entered a woman's vehicle and took her purse in the 4500 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 12:45 p.m. July 24. Police The suspects were later taken into custody at 18th and Grant streets.

BURGLARY

Copper piping was taken from the basement of a residence in the 6000 block of South 34th Street between 10:45 p.m. and 1 p.m. July 26. The unknown suspect(s) forced open a bedroom window to gain access to the home.

A caller reported his front door was damaged after it appeared someone tried to force their way into his home in the 4200 block of South 81st Street between 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. July 26.

Several items were taken from an apartment in the 3500 block of South Rivershire Drive between 10 p.m. July 27 and 4 a.m. July 28. The unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the apartment through a sliding patio door.

THEFT

A caller reported his iPad was taken out of his vehicle while it was parked at Olive Garden, 4760 S. 76th St., at 7:50 a.m. July 23. The theft occurred Saturday, July 21.

A black and silver 2003 Kawasaki Ninja was taken from the 4200 block of South 61st Street between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. July 23.

A catalytic converter was cut out of a vehicle outside Welk's Automotive, 8333 W. Layton Ave., between 10 a.m. July 22 and 9 a.m. July 23.

A gray and orange 18-inch Mongoose bicycle was taken from a yard in the 3400 block of South Strothmann Drive between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 23.

An unidentified woman shoplifted either a TV or a computer monitor and ran out the exit at Walmart, 4500 S. 108th St., at 6:15 p.m. July 23. She was described as black, in her 30s, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds and wearing a floral green and white tank top, purple sundress and a large hat. She fled in a dark brown Dodge Stratus with newspaper covering the license plate.

A stereo was taken out of a vehicle in the 4000 block of South 35th Street on July 24.

A 54-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were arrested for possession of stolen property after they attempted to sell stolen property at Music Go Round, 5042 S. 74th St., shortly after 6 p.m. July 24.

A stereo was taken out of a vehicle at 35th Street and Loomis Road prior to 1:30 p.m. July 25. A window was broken for access.

A black gym bag containing athletic shoes, earphones, a digital media player with an armband, a padlock and $20 was taken from a car in the 4000 block of South 35th Street between midnight and 7:30 a.m. July 25. A window was smashed for access.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting clothing at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:55 p.m. July 25.

A purse and a GPS unit were taken from a car at Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 5:45 p.m. July 25.

An in-dash touch TV screen and an instrument bezel were taken from a truck in the 3500 block of South 108th Street between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. July 25. The driver's door handle was pried open.

Four rings were taken from a residence in the 5900 block of West Bottsford Avenue prior to 10 a.m. July 27.

A 40-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting groceries at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., shortly after 1 p.m. July 27.

A 40-year-old man was cited for retail theft after he shoplifted several books from Barnes & Noble, 4935 S. 76th St., at 1:40 p.m. July 27.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St.¸ at 7:20 p.m. July 27.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting groceries at Sendik's, 7901 W. Layton Ave., at 9:20 a.m. July 28.

A bicycle was taken from a garage in the 5900 block of South 32nd Street prior to 5:45 p.m. July 28.

The rear license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 4800 block of South 72nd Street between 9 a.m. July 27 and 4 p.m. July 28.

A 25-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting various items at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:10 p.m. July 29.

ASSAULT

A woman was pushed off her bike by an unidentified man near South 116th Street and West Morgan Avenue shortly after noon July 26. The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s wearing black bike shorts, a black-and-white tight shirt and a silver-and-white bike helmet.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and bail jumping during a traffic stop in the 6000 block of West Interstate 43 at 2:15 a.m. July 25.

A 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at Burger King, 4555 W. Forest Home Ave., at 1:25 p.m. July 26.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at St. John's Festival, 8500 W. Cold Spring Road, at 7:15 p.m. July 27.

Three 17-year-old boys were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and an 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after they were involved in a car accident on South 35th Street and West Howard Avenue at 9:10 p.m. July 27.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 24-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on West Forest Home Avenue and West Howard Avenue at 2 a.m. July 26.

A 40-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (third offense) after a neighbor called police to report a car repeatedly revving its engine in the 5700 block of South 42nd Street at 2 a.m. July 27. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 50-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on South 27th Street and West Grange Avenue at 2:10 a.m. July 28. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (third offense) on South 51st Street and West Bottsford Avenue at 8:50 p.m. July 28.

A 63-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) on South 86th Street and West Cold Spring Road shortly after 11 p.m. July 28. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

VANDALISM

A truck backed up from the right of way, knocked down a fence and drove over some wildflowers in the 9400 block of West Waterford Avenue prior to 4:35 p.m. July 25.

A window on a vehicle was smashed in the 4000 block of South 35th Street between 5 p.m. July 24 and 5:30 a.m. July 25.

Two vehicles were vandalized in the 4200 block of South Ravinia Drive prior to 8 a.m. July 27.

A vehicle was spray-painted while it was parked outside a residence in the 4200 block of Ravinia Drive between 9 p.m. July 27 and 4 a.m. July 28.

OTHER

A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at Stein's, 3725 S. 108th St., around 4 p.m. July 23.

A woman reported a pit bull attacked her dog in the 9200 block of West Waterford Avenue shortly before 9:40 a.m. July 24.

A 42-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct after he showed up drunk, refused to leave, then urinated on several vehicles at Boyland Honda, 6141 S. 27th St., shortly after 4 p.m. July 24. The suspect was a former employee.

An employee of DJ's Antiques, 4805 S. 74th St., reported an elderly female came into the store around 11 a.m. July 25 and argued with employees, and when asked to leave she said the next time she comes in the store she will be "carrying." Officers located the suspect's vehicle in front of Griddler's Café, where she admitted making the threatening comment. The woman was advised she is not allowed back in the store.

A 27-year-old intoxicated woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she stood in the drive-thru line and refused to move at McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., at 12:35 a.m. July 29.

A 64-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and defrauding an innkeeper after he refused to pay for his cab fare and then threatened the driver by implying he had a weapon in the 5300 block of West Layton Avenue at 2:45 a.m. July 29.

Greenfield police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with four rescue calls between July 23 and July 29.
