Police Report: July 17

BURGLARY

Two wedding rings and perfume were taken from a residence in the 3000 block of West Cold Spring Road prior to 8:10 p.m. July 9, possibly on June 1.

Police responded to a burglar alarm at Valvoline, 8008 W. Layton Ave., shortly after 10 p.m. July 9. It was determined that someone entered the business through the back door, which was found unlocked.

A resident reported her house in the 3300 block of West Loomis Road was burglarized at 8:30 a.m. July 10. The victim gave police the name of a possible suspect.

A front door lock was brokein in an apparent burglary attempt at Fox River Mart, 4621 W. Forest Home Ave., between 11 p.m. July 11 and 5 a.m. July 12.

THEFT

A 1999 Suzuki motorcycle was taken from a parking lot in the 6700 block of West English Meadows Drive between the afternoon of July 8 and 9 a.m. July 9.

A green bike with purple handlebars was taken from the parking lot of US Bank, 4333 S. 27th St., prior to 1:05 p.m. July 9.

A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 4600 block of South 84th Street between 8 p.m. July 8 and 9 a.m. July 9.

Backpacks containing cell phones and a computer tablet were taken from a vehicle in the 6800 block of West Layton Avenue prior to 8:15 p.m. July 9.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., shortly after noon July 10.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from an apartment in the 3900 block of South Prairie Hill Lane prior to 12:10 p.m. July 10.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:40 p.m. July 10.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting CDs at Barnes & Noble, 4935 S. 76th St., shortly after 10 p.m. July 10. He was located at Mega Media Exchange and taken into custody.

An in-dash stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 6600 block of West Barnard Avenue prior to 7 a.m. July 11.

A Sony CD player and CDs were taken from a locked vehicle in the 6600 block of West Barnard Avenue between 7 p.m. July 10 and 9 a.m. July 11. A door lock was punched out for access.

A stereo and digital media player were taken from a vehicle in the 6600 block of West Barnard Avenue between the late evening July 10 and early morning July 11.

A woman's purse was taken at Mad Dog Saloon, 4395 S. 76th St., the evening of July 10.

Tools and CDs were taken out of a vehicle on South 68th Street and West Barnard Avenue between 11 a.m. July 10 and 6 a.m. July 11.

A license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 4700 block of West Layton Avenue overnight July 11-12.

A basketball hoop was taken from a residence in the 4400 block of South 50th Street prior to 5:15 p.m. July 12.

A catalytic converter was taken off a vehicle at Frontier Auto, 5141 S. 27th St., overnight July 11-12.

A laptop computer and a briefcase were taken out of a vehicle in the 5600 block of West Forest Home Avenue between 11:45 p.m. July 12 and 8 a.m. July 13.

An air compressor, a nail gun, a multi-air fitting attachment and an air hose were taken from an unlocked storage compartment of a utility truck in the 4700 block of South 112th Street between 6:30 p.m. July 12 and 8:30 a.m. July 13.

Two 18-year-old women, a 19-year-old woman, a 35-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing women's underwear in their purses at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 12:15 p.m. July 13.

A 32-year-old man was arrested after he became intoxicated and refused to pay his tab at Hooters, 7700 W. Layton Ave., at 10:25 pm. July 13.

A 2-ton air-conditioning unit was taken from the rear of a residence in the 3200 block of South 46th Street between July 6 and July 13.

The driver left without paying for an undisclosed amount of gas at BP Gas, 4715 S. 27th St., at 5:25 p.m. July 15.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 40-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and prowling in the parking lot of Candy's Homestyle Laundry, 6401 W. Forest Home Ave., at 12:20 p.m. July 9.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a 28-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police received a report of two people smoking marijuana in a car in the 4900 block of South 76th Street at 7:50 p.m. July 9.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and prowling in the 4500 block of West Holmes Avenue shortly after midnight July 10.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and for using an alias during a traffic stop in the 4600 block of South 76th Street at 1:40 a.m. July 14. She was also taken into custody for having nine outstanding warrants through the West Allis Police Department.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 53-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and a 42-year-old female passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on 27th Street and Parnell Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. July 11. His preliminary blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 6000 block of South 27th Street at 2:15 a.m. July 13. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen swerving on the freeway, then pulled over to vomit in the 8300 block of West Layton Avenue at 1:35 a.m. July 14. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on 84th Street and Layton Avenue at 3:05 a.m. July 15. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

An elderly female drove her vehicle through the front window of the Milwaukee Military Recruiting Office, 6176 W. Layton Ave., at 9:45 a.m. July 12. No one was injured. Police are reviewing the incident.

VANDALISM

Graffiti was spray-painted on the north side of the garages facing the expressway at American Colony in the 4500 block of South 35th Street prior to 8:25 p.m. July 9.

A TV in the clubhouse was smashed during a possible burglary attempt at the Falcon Glen Apartments, 5049 S. Falcon Glen Blvd., overnight July 9-10.

A surveillance camera mounted inside an enclosed porch was broken at a residence in the 3600 block of South 34th Street between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. July 10.

A 50-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after he destroyed property during a fight with his girlfriend in the 4300 block of South 51st Street shortly after 10 p.m. July 10.

Racial slurs were spray-painted on children's play area signs in the 3700 block of West Howard Avenue prior to 3:30 p.m. July 12.

An unknown suspect smashed a window during an apparent burglary attempt at Corner Club, 4309 W. Grange Ave., at 3:40 a.m. July 14. The suspect, described as white male wearing shorts, a hoodie and a baseball cap, drove northbound on South 43rd Street in a dark-colored pickup after he was scared off by employees still inside the bar.

OTHER

A 46-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became loud and belligerent at the customer service counter, then threw an object across the counter as he was leaving at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., shortly before 6 p.m. July 9.

A 29-year-old Milwaukee man made threats that he had a gun and would "get" people, claiming he "had a badge and is not a rookie" at Corner Club, 4309 W. Grange Ave., at 10:30 p.m. July 9. He was located by police at 2:05 a.m. July 10 and arrested for impersonating an officer and disorderly conduct while armed.

A 45-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were arrested for disorderly conduct after they got into an altercation during a child custody exchange in the 6200 block of South 41st Street shortly before 7 p.m. July 10.

A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at McDonald's, 5040 S. 76th St., the evening of July 10.

A 48-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting arrest after he tried to assault a bartender while he was being escorted out of Scott E's Pub, 3800 S. 108th St., at 8:45 p.m. July 11.

FIRE

Police assisted the Greenfield Fire Department with traffic control after a gas line was struck by workers in the 4200 block of South 108th Street shortly before 6 p.m. July 11.

Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with six rescue calls and two fire calls between July 9 and July 15.
