BURGLARY

A snowblower and a digital media player and charger were taken from a home in the 4000 block of South 56th Street between the evening hours of Dec. 22 and the morning hours of Dec. 23.

Two power saws were taken from a garage in the 2900 block of West Cold Spring Road prior to 10:15 a.m. Dec. 24.

A six-drawer tool chest and miscellaneous tools were taken from a residence in the 4800 block of South 39th Street between 10:30 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. Dec. 25. A rear door was forced open.

The drive-thru window was opened and security bars were knocked out of place at McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., prior to 5 a.m. Dec. 26. Video surveillance determined it was an attempted burglary, but no forced entry took place.

Jewelry was taken from a locked apartment in the 6400 block of West Layton Avenue prior to 10:15 p.m. Dec. 26.

A snowblower and several tools were taken from a garage in the 4600 block of South 48th Street prior to 4:10 p.m. Dec. 29.

A Samsung cash register was taken from Carl's Catering, 5110 W. Loomis Road, during a burglary prior to 1 p.m. Jan. 4.

THEFT

A man's wedding ring was taken at the Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., at about 5 p.m. Dec. 23.

A $50 CD player and a $100 XM radio were taken from two vehicles parked in the 3400 block of West Colony Drive prior to 7:55 a.m. Dec. 26.

A laptop computer was taken from a locked vehicle in the parking lot of Olive Garden, 4760 S. 76th St., between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 26.

An unknown amount of merchandise was taken by a woman at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 27. The woman was last seen driving southbound on 27th Street in a beige Sonoma pickup truck.

Batteries were taken out of two trucks at Verlo Mattress, 6501 W. Layton Ave., between 8 p.m. Dec. 27 and 6 a.m. Dec. 28.

Fiberglass posts were taken from the edge of a driveway in the 6500 block of West Plainfield Avenue prior to 12:15 p.m. Dec. 28.

A gift card was taken at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., on Dec. 27. The gift card was given to the customer for an in-store credit after a return, and video surveillance showed another customer picked up the card and used it after the victim left it on the customer service counter.

A purse containing a bank card was taken from a customer at McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., at about 12:10 p.m. Dec. 28. The suspects were described as a 6-foot-tall, 280-pound white male in his late 20s with a goatee; a 5-foot, eight-inch tall, 180-pound white female in her mid-20s; and a 5-foot, 10-inch tall white male with short brown hair.

A license plate was taken off a vehicle parked in the 6100 block of South 31st Street prior to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 28.

The tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 4200 block of South 60th Street prior to 5 p.m. Dec. 28.

A 25-mg bottle of liquid morphine and a bottle of Lorzepam were taken from a refrigerator in a home in the 5900 block of South 32nd Street between 5:30 a.m. Dec. 17 and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 18.

A cellphone was taken from a locked vehicle in the 4800 block of West Forest Home Avenue between 7 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Dec. 28.

Catalytic converters were taken off two vehicles at the Loomis Park-and-Ride lot, 3997 W. Loomis Road, between 6:40 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Dec. 28.

An unidentified woman shoplifted merchandise at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Police have the license plate number of the vehicle in which she drive off.

A purse was taken from a locked car parked at Aurora Health Center, 6901 W. Edgerton Ave., prior to 11 a.m. Dec. 31.

Driveway markers were taken from a residence in the 6500 block of West Plainfield Avenue prior to 11:45 a.m. Dec. 31 and again between the evening of Jan. 5 and the morning of Jan. 6. Police are following up with possible video of the theft.

A $300 makeup case and $40 worth of cheese and sausage were taken from a locked SUV in the parking lot at State Farm Insurance, 3380 S. 108th St., prior to 12:15 p.m. Dec. 31.

A catalytic converter was taken from a car parked in the 3000 block of West Edgerton Avenue between the evening of Dec. 30 and the morning of Dec. 31.

Jewelry was taken from a home in the 4200 block of South 92nd Place prior to 3:05 p.m. Jan. 2. The victim named a possible suspect.

A resident came into the police department on Jan. 4 to report a house guest stole his Christmas gift receipts, took them to Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., found the items in the store and then returned them for cash.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen breaking open video game cases and concealing the discs inside his coat at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 4.

A catalytic converter was taken from a vehicle in the 4900 block of South 74th Street prior to 5:15 p.m. Jan. 4.

A laptop computer was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 4100 block of South 76th Street prior to 5:55 p.m. Jan. 4.

A briefcase was taken from a vehicle in the 4200 block of South 27th Street prior to 7:18 p.m. Jan. 4.

A coat, wallet, keys and two cellphones were taken from a vehicle in the 4800 block of South 76th Street between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Jan. 4.

A catalytic converter was taken off a vehicle at the Loomis park and ride lot, 3997 W. Loomis Road, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 4.

Two rear tires and brake drums were taken off a vehicle in the 6400 block of West Norwich Avenue between late evening Jan. 4 and 9:45 a.m. Jan. 5.

A 34-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested for shoplifting an undisclosed amount of merchandise at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 3:35 p.m. Jan. 6. The two men fled the store in a silver minivan, were located on the freeway and stopped by police just north of the Mitchell interchange.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 26-year-old woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on 36th Street and Cold Spring Road at 3:55 a.m. Dec. 26.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for possession of heroin during a traffic stop on 27th Street and Layton Avenue at 4:10 p.m. Dec. 29.

A 16-year-old boy was cited for underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found naked and lying in the snow in the 6900 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 7:50 p.m. Dec. 31. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment and was cited after he was released.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 5200 block of South Tuckaway Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. Jan. 1.

A 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering/obstructing police in the 9100 block of West Waterford Square arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Jan. 5.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for possession of heroin and shoplifting at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 11 a.m. Jan. 6.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 25-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5000 block of West Loomis Road at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 26. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (third offense) on 76th Street and Cold Spring Road at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 30. He was transported to the hospital for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (third offense) on 68th Street and Forest Home Avenue at 10:55 p.m. Dec. 31. His BAC was 0.24.

A 27-year-old West Allis man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) and cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle after he drove his car up onto a median on 108th Street and West Morgan Avenue at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 3.

An employee reported a drunken driver passed out between the first and second drive-thru windows at McDonald's, 5040 S. 76th St., at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 3. Greenfield police were unable to locate the intoxicated motorist.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 7700 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 3:20 a.m. Jan. 5.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) after a resident called police to report a vehicle was parked on the street with its stereo blasting in the 5000 block of South 68th Street at 3:25 a.m. Jan. 5.

ACCIDENTS

A 41-year-old Milwaukee woman was transported to the hospital after the car she was riding in was rear-ended by a car driven by a 78-year-old New Berlin man on 27th Street and College Avenue at 1:07 p.m. Dec. 29. After rear-ending the car, the man then veered to the right and side-swiped another car that was also stopped in traffic. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and was cited for inattentive driving, following too closely and failure to have control of a vehicle.

A 48-year-old Waukesha woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after her car was collided with a vehicle that failed to stop for a red traffic light on West Loomis Road at the northbound I-43 off-ramp at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 1. That driver, a 59-year-old Greenfield man, was cited for disregarding a traffic signal.

A 14-year-old Franklin girl was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries after the car she was riding in made a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle on 116th Street and Edgerton Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Jan. 2. The driver of the car, a 16-year-old Franklin girl, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

A 34-year-old Milwaukee woman was injured and transported to the hospital after the car she was riding in rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection of Howard Avenue and 108th Street at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 5. The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, was cited for following too closely.

VANDALISM

Graffiti was spray-painted on a building in the 4800 block of West Forest Home between Dec. 22 and Dec. 26.

The back window of a vehicle was smashed in the 4900 block of South 76th Street prior to 3:45 p.m. Dec. 29.

A side window of a car was smashed while parked in the 3500 block of South 108th Street prior to 3:30 a.m. Dec. 30.

Lug nuts were removed and a window was smashed on one vehicle and two wheels were removed from a second at John Paul GMC, 3615 S. 108th St., between 5 p.m. Dec. 29 and 7 a.m. Dec. 31. The tires were not taken, but left in the lot.

Five mailboxes were damaged between the 6300 and 6500 blocks of West Plainfield between the evening of Jan. 2 and 8 a.m. Jan. 3.

OTHER

A 23-year-old man was cited for harassment after he made multiple threatening telephone calls to his ex-girlfriend's place of employment in the 5000 block of South 107th Street at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27. The man refused to meet with officers regarding the complaint and was cited by mail.

A 911 caller reported a baby was left alone in a vehicle in the 7800 block of West Layton Avenue at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 29. An officer responded and confirmed the child was alone. The child was turned over to its mother, a Racine woman, and Child Services was contacted.

A fraudulent prescription was passed at Kmart Pharmacy, 4601 S. 27th St., prior to 6:05 p.m. Dec. 31. Police have a suspect and are following up.

A 29-year-old man was arrested for prowling and entry to a vehicle after employees at Applebee's and Red Robin in the 5100 block of South 76th Street reported seeing a man attempting to break into vehicles at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 2.

A 49-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became belligerent and would not calm down at Blockbuster, 4285 S. 76th St., at 8:25 p.m. Jan. 2.

A register was broken into at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., and an undisclosed amount of money was taken prior to 9:50 p.m. Jan. 5. Police are following up with the store's video surveillance.

Two intoxicated men, a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they were seen urinating on a residential lawn in the 7600 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 11 p.m. Jan. 5.

Greenfield police assisted the fire department in the 4000 block of South 65th Street after a woman got trapped between two trash bins at about 2:35 a.m. Jan. 6. The woman stated she was attempting to search the trash bins when she slipped and fell. The fire department transported the woman to Froedtert for treatment of a dislocated ankle.
