BURGLARY
An unidentified subject(s) pried open a safe and stole about $290 in cash and coins was stolen during a burglary at Subway, 4166 S. 108th St., between 9:15 p.m. Jan. 22 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 23. No forced entry was observed. Police are investigating.
THEFT
Jewelry was stolen from a residence in the 10100 block of West Cold Spring Road between Oct. 31 and Jan. 17.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken from a volunteer at Oak Crest Villa, 8765 W. Forest Home Ave., prior to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 21.
Officers responding to a report of one combative shoplifter and one fleeing shoplifter at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., arrested a 35-year-old man for retail theft and a 27-year-old man for retail theft, possession of a Schedule II narcotic and bail jumping at 11:10 a.m. Jan. 21.
Two unidentified women shoplifted a cart full of merchandise at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The two suspects were last seen heading south on South 27th Street in a maroon Buick. Police have the license plate number of the vehicle and were following up.
A boy was arrested for employee theft and possession of marijuana after he was caught stealing cash and merchandise at TJ Maxx, 4200 S. 76th St., at about 6 p.m. Jan. 21.
A camera, a digital media player and several bottles of medication were taken from a vehicle at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., between 5:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 21.
An unidentified man shoplifted a cellphone by cutting it off a display with a knife at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St.., and then fled the store at about 8:20 p.m. Jan. 22. The suspect, described as a white male in his early 20s wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans and accompanied by a white female wearing a pink hoodie, was last seen traveling southbound on South 27th Street in a newer gold or tan Chrysler.
An employee's wallet was taken from Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 25.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 25.
Vehicle registration stickers were taken off the license plates of two vehicles in the 3900 block of South 84th Street between late evening Jan. 24 and early morning Jan. 25.
A purse was taken from a vehicle in the 4100 block of South 108th Street between late evening Jan. 25 and 8 a.m. Jan. 26.
An unidentified man shoplifted a laptop computer at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 27. The suspect was last seen heading eastbound on the freeway in a pink Chevy Impala.
Police are seeking a man who flashed a knife at a manager at Sports Authority, 5070 S. 74th St., while he was attempting to detain him for shoplifting at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 27. The suspect and a male accomplice fled the store in a silver Oldsmobile that was waiting for them in the parking lot.
DRUG POSSESSION
A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of oxycodone after police and emergency medical personnel responded to a report of a possible overdose in the 4800 block of West Howard Avenue at 8:35 a.m. Jan. 24.
A 24-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting after they were seen removing security tags from headphones at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 26.
DRUNKEN DRIVING
A 41-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4200 block of South 43rd Street at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22. His blood alcohol content was .15.
A 40-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5100 block of South 27th Street at 2:55 a.m. Jan. 27. His BAC was unavailable.
ACCIDENTS
A 17-year-old Franklin girl and her passenger, a 16-year-old Greenfield boy, were transported to the hospital after she struck another vehicle while attempting to make a left turn from 43rd Street onto Howard Avenue at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 24. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way. The driver of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman, was cited for operating while revoked.
VANDALISM
A vehicle was scratched with a key while it was parked at Sendik's, 7901 W. Layton Ave., between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 19.
A car was scratched with a key, its rear window smashed and one tire was slashed while it was parked in the 4200 block of South 79th Street prior to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 22.
The driver's side door lock was punched out and the passenger side door lock was damaged on a vehicle at Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 12:15 p.m. Jan. 22. Nothing was taken.
A vehicle was damaged during an apparent break-in attempt in the 3200 block of South 103rd Street between 6:30 a.m. and 3:44 p.m. Jan. 22.
A vehicle was damaged during an apparent break-in attempt in the 4700 block of West Cold Spring Road between late evening Jan. 22 and 10 a.m. Jan. 12.
The passenger side window of a car was broken while it was parked in the 4800 block of West Cold Spring Road prior to 10:45 a.m. Jan. 27.
OTHER
An unidentified man asked a man for $5 for gas and then tried to get into the man's vehicle in the 4200 block of South 76th Street at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 22. The suspect, described as a heavy-set white male in his mid-20s with a mustache, was not located.
A 53-year-old resident was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed after he threatened a tree service employee with a rifle in the 9500 block of West Van Beck Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 24.
Officers responding to a report of a fight in the 4100 block of West Loomis Road arrested a 17-year-old girl for disorderly conduct, underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia, and an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy for disorderly conduct and underage drinking at about 1 a.m. Jan. 26.
A resident in the 6300 block of West Leroy Avenue called police after he heard a man singing Christmas carols very loudly at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 26. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
A 21-year-old woman was cited for unlawful use of 911 after she called the emeregency number twice and was abusive to dispatch officers, then called a third time stating her car was stolen while it was parked at Scott E's Pub, 3800 S. 108th St., at 2:10 a.m. Jan. 27. Police questioned the bartender, who stated the woman left with friends prior to officer's arrival. She was mailed a citation.
Greenfield police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with six rescue calls and two fire calls between Jan. 21 and Jan. 27.
