Police Report: Aug. 21

BURGLARY

A weight set was taken from a residence in the 3900 block of West Howard Avenue sometime in the past six weeks prior to Aug. 13. Police are following up with a possible suspect.

Three office suites in the 2700 block of West Layton Avenue were forcibly entered between late evening Aug. 13 and 7:20 a.m. Aug. 14. It was unknown if anything was missing at the time of the report.

THEFT

Multiple prescription medications and $100 were taken in the 6700 block of West Barnard Avenue at 5:35 a.m. Aug. 13. Police are following up with a possible suspect.

The rear license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 7300 block of West Southridge Drive between 4 p.m. Aug. 12 and 5 p.m. Aug. 13.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting a pedicure set at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13.

A 41-year-old man, a 48-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting more than $300 worth of energy drinks, vodka and dog food at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 7 p.m. Aug. 13.

An aluminum ladder was taken off a white service truck parked in the 6700 block of West Bottsford Avenue between 10 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 16.

A saw was taken from a vehicle on 50th Place and Forest Home Avenue prior to 2:15 p.m. Aug. 16.

A battery was taken from a boat in the 4600 block of South 68th Street prior to 8:15 p.m. Aug. 16.

A purse was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of South 110th Street between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

An air conditioner was taken from the Harmony Foundation, 6011 S. 27th St., on Aug. 16 or Aug. 17.

An employee's bicycle was taken at McDonald's Restaurant, 4275 S. 27th St., prior to 9:40 p.m. Aug. 17.

A mailbox was taken in the 6100 block of South 40th Street between late evening Aug. 17 and early morning Aug. 18.

Keys, a wallet and clothes were taken from a locker at the Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., between 12:07 p.m. and 1:26 p.m. Aug. 18.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting DVDs at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 18.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of narcotics during a traffic stop on Forest Home Avenue and Morgan Avenue at 4:55 p.m. Aug. 13. He was also taken into custody for two outstanding warrants for underage drinking and operating after suspension.

Officers responding to a noise complaint in the 3100 block of West Alvina Avenue arrested one boy for possession of marijuana and another boy for possession of drug paraphernalia shortly after midnight Aug. 14.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and narcotics after he was found unresponsive in the passenger seat of a disabled vehicle in the 5500 block of South 27th Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15. The driver, a 19-year-old woman, was arrested for resisting/obstructing an officer.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after he was seen stumbling around in a parking lot in the 5000 block of South 74th Street at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 18.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 29-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on 27th Street and Howard Avenue at 3 a.m. Aug. 13. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.14.

A 48-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after a 911 caller reported a driver was swerving all over the road on 60th Street and Edgerton Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Aug. 14. Her preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and obstructing an officer after a 911 caller reported a reckless driver on Layton Avenue and 43rd Street at 12:25 a.m. Aug. 15. His preliminary BAC was 0.16.

A 38-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving, fifth offense, in the 4300 block of South 60th Street at 12:35 a.m. Aug. 16. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 33-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4100 block of South 35th Street at 3:20 a.m. Aug. 18. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

A 27-year-old New Berlin woman was injured when the car she was riding in collided with a vehicle that ran a red light on Beloit Road and 108th Street at 6:50 p.m. Aug. 11. The driver of the other vehicle, a 19-year-old Mukwonago man, was cited for disregarding a traffic signal and no insurance. No other injuries were reported.

A 41-year-old Greenfield man was transported to the hospital after his motorcycle/car collision on Layton Avenue and 43rd Street at 1:20 p.m. Aug. 15. The man, traveling eastbound on Layton Avenue, was ejected from his cycle after he collided with a car making a left turn in front of his cycle. The driver of the car, a 66-year-old Franklin woman, was also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

A 13-year-old Greenfield boy was injured and transported to the hospital when he darted across Layton Avenue at 68th Street against the traffic signal and was struck by a car shortly before 2 p.m. Aug. 15. He was cited for crossing against the light.

A 58-year-old Greenfield man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after his car was struck by a truck on Loomis Road and Edgerton Avenue at 6:50 p.m. Aug. 17. The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old Milwaukee man, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

VANDALISM

A mailbox was knocked off its post in the 4200 block of South 61st Street between the evening of Aug. 12 and 4 p.m. Aug. 13.

A mailbox was knocked off its post in the 6100 block of West Leroy Avenue between the evening of Aug. 12 and 4:35 p.m. Aug. 13.

A mailbox was damaged in the 6100 block of West Leroy Avenue prior to 6:17 p.m. Aug. 18.

OTHER

A resident in the 3700 block of West Grange Avenue called police to report her neighbor "threw her the bird" at 11:53 a.m. Aug. 14. Officers advised the two neighbors to ignore each other as both accuse each other of starting altercations.

A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at Penzey's Spices, 5016 S. 74th St., prior to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 14.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for prowling and resisting arrest after he attempted to enter a random residence in the 4500 block of West Bottsford Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. Aug. 15. Officers located the suspect in the 4400 block of South 43rd Street, where he was taken into custody.

A 38-year-old man and a male juvenile were arrested for disorderly conduct after an altercation in the 2900 block of West Ramsey Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. Aug. 15.

A 51-year-old Louisiana woman was cited for soliciting without a permit after she became loud, pushy and vulgar about a product she was trying to sell to a resident in the 10400 block of West Pallotine Drive at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 16.

Greenfield police responded to four domestic violence calls and assisted with four rescue calls between Aug. 13 and Aug. 19.
