BURGLARY

Numerous tools were taken from an open garage in the 3700 block of South 53rd Street between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. April 8.

A service door to a garage was kicked in during an attempted burglary in the 12300 block of West Whitaker Avenue prior to 1:42 a.m. April 13. Nothing was reported missing.

Tools and an air compressor were among the items taken from an unlocked garage/shop in the 4700 block of West Grange Avenue prior to 4:30 p.m. April 14. The residence is in the process of being sold.

THEFT

Some Percocet tablets were taken from a residence during a party in the 7100 block of West Southridge Drive on April 6.

A cellphone was taken from The Forum, 4711 S. 108th St., on April 5. An employee had let a customer borrow her phone, but he left with it.

An envelope containing $6,000 in cash was taken from a residence in the 4200 block of South 90th Street prior to 6 p.m. April 8. The resident named a possible suspect and police are following up.

A representative of Gendlin, Liverman & Rymer, 10335 W. Oklahoma Ave., called police at 9:30 a.m. April 9 to report that a male employee who was terminated on April 8 for stealing prescription medication was also suspected of breaking into the building (with a set of keys) and deleting customer files. Police are investigating.

A purse was taken from a car parked at 108th Street and Cold Spring Road prior to 5:03 p.m. April 9.

Two unidentified women with a baby in a stroller shoplifted an undisclosed amount of merchandise at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at about 2:15 p.m. April 10.

Three unidentified males attempted to steal a bike from a backyard in the 6800 block of West Allerton Avenue at 11:40 p.m. April 10. They fled when they were spotted by the resident.

A 48-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting disposable razors and men's briefs at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 12:30 p.m. April 11.

A license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 4800 block of West Cold Spring Road between April 1 and April 11.

An unidentified female shoplifted multiple cans of baby formula at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., on April 9 and April 10.

An unidentified male shoplifted a watch at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 11:50 a.m. April 12. The suspect fled the lot in a green Buick Century with stolen license plates.

An employee reported that a male and a female shoplifted video games at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at about 2:10 p.m. April 12, then fled the lot in a green Ford Contour.

Three women, who brought their children along with them, shoplifted 69 cans of baby formula at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., at about 5 p.m. April 12. The suspects, a 23-year-old woman and two 26-year-old woman, all of Milwaukee, were arrested when a they returned to the store at 8:15 a.m. April 14 and were positively identified by store security.

A purse was taken from one car and a backpack was taken from another at Club Paragon, 3578 S. 108th St., prior to 12:05 a.m. April 13. Windows on both vehuicles were broken for entry.

A man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen using a wire cutter to cut video game controllers off a display at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 1:30 p.m. April 13.

A Coach purse containing a wallet and keys was taken from a vehicle in the 4200 block of South 27th Street prior to 12:45 p.m. April 14.

An unidentified man was arrested for shoplifting after he attempted to steal an undisclosed amount of merchandise at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., at 5:50 p.m. April 14.

ASSAULT

A man was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 3400 block of South 45th Street after a caller witnessed him striking an 11-year-old child after a 2-year-old girl was struck in the face by a swing at Coopers Hawk Park, 3460 S. 45th St., at 4:50 p.m. April 8. The Milwaukee Bureau of Child Welfare was contacted and is following up.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of heroin after he passed out while taking a shower at a residence in the 5100 block of South 46th Street at 1:30 p.m. April 11.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and underage drinking after a resident in the 4800 block of West Cold Spring Road reported an unidentified person was ringing his doorbell and tapping on his apartment door at 2:50 a.m. April 13.

Officers responding to a complaint from a resident who was almost struck by a speeding vehicle near South 45th Street and West Bottsford Avenue arrested a man for possession of heroin at 8:30 p.m. April 14.

VANDALISM

Graffiti was spray-painted on a business in the 5300 block of West Loomis Road between 2 p.m. April 6 and 6:15 a.m. April 8.

Graffiti was found on the building at Carl's Catering, 5110 W. Loomis Road, at 11:30 a.m. April 8.

OTHER

A 17-year-old girl was cited for disorderly conduct and trespassing after she got into a fight with another girl at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., at 9 a.m. April 10.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he spit on a Milwaukee County Transit bus driver before getting off the bus at 35th Street and Howard Avenue at 10:55 a.m. April 10. The man was located at Loomis Road and Point Terrace and was taken into custody.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for trespassing after an apartment manager saw him climbing onto a balcony and trying to get into his grandmother's apartment in the 6500 block of West English Meadows Drive at noon April 10.

Two 15-year-old boys were cited for disorderly conduct after they got into a food fight that turned physical at Whitnall High School, 5000 S. 116th St., at 3:30 p.m. April 11.

An unidentified man entered a parked vehicle to lie down and fled when he was confronted by the vehicle's owner in the 3400 block of South 50th Street at 5:20 a.m. April 13. A woman said the man had come to her door asking for an unidentified person, and then claimed the car on the street belonged to his brother. Nothing was taken from the car, but the interior smelled strongly of intoxicants. Police were unable to locate the man.

Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with three rescue calls and one fire call between April 8 and April 14.
