Four arrested after leaving accident scene
A 17-year-old boy and his passengers, two 19-year-old men and a boy, were arrested for walking away from their vehicle after it was involved in an accident on 68th Street and Edgerton Avenue on Dec. 14.
Greenfield police located the passengers on South 67th Place and Holmes Avenue, where they were arrested for failure to report an accident and conveyed to the police station. One of the 19-year-old men was also cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.
Two of the passengers were transported from the Greenfield Police Station to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the car was located at a home in the 4900 block of South 67th Street, where he was arrested for hit and run causing injury and obstructing an officer.
Resident chased after confronting intruder
A 21-year-old Greenfield man called police after an unknown suspect broke into his home and chased him down the street during the early morning hours of Dec. 16.
According to the victim, the unknown suspect gained entry to his home in the 3300 block of West Coldspring Road by throwing a rock through a window around 2:16 a.m. Dec. 16. When the victim, a 21-year-old man, confronted the intruder, the suspect chased the victim eastbound on West Coldspring Road.
At some point during the chase the suspect turned around and went back to the residence, according to the victim. The report did not state whether or not the suspect stole anything from the home.
The victim ran to McDonald's on South 27th and Coldspring, where he called police.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot, white male weighing 165 pounds. The suspect has blue eyes and was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had a gray scarf over his face. Due to blood found at the scene of the break-in, the suspect should have injuries to his hands or other extremities.
Police seeking three suspects in armed robbery
Greenfield police are seeking three men who stole merchandise and cash from a local food store after threatening an employee with guns and pepper spray on Dec. 10.
According to the police log:
Three black men, two armed with guns and one armed with pepper spray, stole cartons of cigarettes and an unknown amount of cash at Villager Foods, 6845 W. Layton Ave., around 10:30 p.m.
The men fled on foot and were last seen running toward Southridge Apartments. Two wore gray hoodies and blue jeans and one wore a black ski mask, a blue windbreaker with a white stripe down the sleeves and gray pants with a dark stripe down the legs. All three suspects were wearing white t-shirts under their jackets.
