Greenfield - Redrawing Greenfield's aldermanic district lines following the 2010 federal census did not produce significant changes in aldermanic representation.
Still, 242 residents who will be in different districts and will vote at different polling places starting next year.
The bulk of those residents are going from District 1, represented by Alderwoman Linda Lubotsky, to District 4 represented by Pam Akers.
They had been voting at Glenwood Elementary School but next year will vote at either Maple Grove Elementary or at the Greenfield Library. The city clerk's office will notify voters of the change before the February primary, even if there isn't one next year.
In District 5, there also were changes in wards 18 and 20.
"All the districts are very even," said City Clerk Jennifer Goergen, and the wards are within state required population ranges. The Common Council recently approved the redistricting where the largest new district is 7,714 compared with the smallest of 7,107.
The largest is Akers' District 4 and the smallest is District 3, represented by Karl Kastner.
The 2010 census shows that the city grew slightly in the 10 years since the previous census. The 2000 population was 35,476 compared with 36,720 in 2010.
