Board member deserves praise in decision not to run

Jan. 7, 2009 | 0 comments

Public Forum:

Linda Lubotsky’s decision to not seek a second term as a member of the Greenfield School Board and instead focus on her duties as 1st District alderperson deserves some positive recognition.

While many politicians seem to spread themselves too thin, and appear to lack focus, Lubotsky realized the time constraints and workload of two positions, and chose to give her focus to just one.

I’m sure this wasn’t an easy decision for her to make, but one made with the best interest of the community in mind. Regardless, her decision was a noble one, and should be appreciated by those she serves.

In April, we will elect three individuals to serve on the School Board for the next three years. They will be responsible for helping to take our school district to an even higher level of success. Let’s make sure they are people who have vision, commitment and a sense community.
