BURGLARY

An apartment was burglarized in the 7300 block of West Southridge Drive while the resident was sleeping during the early morning hours of Jan. 30. A screen window was ripped off for entry.

THEFT

An unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through in the 4600 block of South 68th Street between late evening Jan. 27 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 28. Nothing was reported missing from the car.

A woman's purse was taken at El Beso, 5030 S. 74th St., and her debit card was used at a gas station during the evening of Jan. 27.

Two unidentified women shoplifted a cart full of merchandise at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 1:55 p.m. Jan. 28. The women fled the lot in a silver Oldsmobile. Police are reviewing video surveillance.

A digital media player was taken at Kopps, 7631 W. Layton Ave., on Jan. 26.

A woman's wallet and cellphone were taken from an unlocked locker at the Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 7:10 p.m. Jan. 28. The victim stated she found her wallet, but all her cash was missing.

An unidentified man and woman shoplifted a desktop computer and other items at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspects, a shorter black male with a stocky build and slight facial hair and a heavy-set black female with a long, curly weave, were last seen leaving in a mid-1990s silver Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable.

An unidentified man shoplifted two LCD TVs at Walmart, at 9 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspect, described as a white male wearing a black jacket and hat, was last seen leaving the lot in a black Honda and exiting on South 108th Street.

Two unidentified men shoplifted tools from Sears Parts & Repair, 4260 S. 76th St., at 10:10 a.m. Jan. 29. They fled in a white Chevy Impala and were last seen traveling eastbound on West Cold Spring Road.

A lawn mower, refrigerator and other items were taken from Layton Glass, 6700 W. Layton Ave., prior to 9:55 a.m. Jan. 30. The stolen items were behind the business when they were taken.

The seats out of a 2007 Chevy Tahoe at Crazy Jim's Auto, 5371 S. 27th St., were the target of a theft attempt between late evening Jan. 29 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 30.

The rear license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 4400 block of South 38th Street prior to 6 p.m. Jan. 30.

The front license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 4300 block of West Tesch Avenue between late evening Jan. 30 and 5 p.m. Jan. 31.

An unidentified man and woman attempted to shoplift two carts full of merchandise at Walmart at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31. When discovered by an employee, the two left merchandise in the parking lot and fled the lot in a green Ford Expedition. The suspects, described as a black male wearing a Chicago Bulls jacket and a black female wearing a koala hat, were last seen traveling northbound on South 108th Street.

A van was taken from a residence in the 3400 block of West College Avenue on Feb. 1. The resident told Greenfield police she didn't know her van was stolen until a Milwaukee police officer informed her they found her van, crashed and abandoned, somewhere in Milwaukee at 7:15 p.m.

An unidentified man shoplifted three comforters at Kmart at 11:50 a.m. Feb. 2. The suspect fled the lot in a silver vehicle.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting grocery items at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 2.

A 46-year-old man was arrested for attempted theft, prowling and possession of drug paraphernalia after a man called police to report he was following a suspect who was seen breaking into cars in the parking lot at Olive Garden, 4760 S. 76th St., shortly after 6 p.m. Feb. 2.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 4700 block of South 76th Street at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 3.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 27-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on West Layton Avenue and West Forest Home Avenue at 1:55 a.m. Feb. 1. His blood alcohol content was 0.13.

ACCIDENTS

A 31-year-old Greenfield woman was transported to the hospital with possible injuries after she lost control of her vehicle and struck two mailboxes and a tree while driving westbound on West Cold Spring Road and South 68th Street at 1:10 p.m. Jan. 17.

A 51-year-old Franklin woman was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle after she lost control of her car on an icy road on South 108th Street at 6:45 a.m. Jan. 22. Her vehicle struck a curb and knocked over a utility pole, then continued forward and struck a parked car while traveling northbound. The incident also caused another driver to merge into the left lane and strike another car in order to avoid being struck. No one was injured in the accident.

An 18-year-old Greenfield woman was unhurt after she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered road and struck a mailbox, a tree and a house in the 4400 block of South 68th Street at 8:12 a.m. Jan. 25. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was transported to the hospital with possible injuries after his car struck and knocked down a traffic pole, then flipped over when he swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle while traveling westbound in the 6000 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26. He was cited for speeding, failure to have control of a vehicle, driving too fast for conditions and no insurance.

VANDALISM

A bay window was broken at a residence in the 4200 block of West College Avenue prior to 10:45 p.m. Feb. 1.

A single-pane window at a residence was broken by a frozen egg in the 3500 block of West Armour Avenue between 5 p.m. Feb. 2 and 8 a.m. Feb. 3.

A mailbox was damaged in the 3700 block of South 124th Street between late evening Feb. 2 and early morning Feb. 3.

OTHER

A 17-year-old girl was arrested for disorderly conduct for causing a disturbance and cursing at Whitnall High School, 5000 S. 116th St., at 11:55 a.m. Jan. 28.

Two 16-year-old boys were cited for disorderly conduct after a physical altercation at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., at 11:50 a.m. Jan. 29.

An unidentified man came into the store and threw snowballs and a "wet floor" sign at an employee at Speedway, 4265 S. 60th St., just before 1 a.m. Feb. 3. The employee told police the man had been kicked out of the store earlier for being disorderly. The suspect, described as a white male in his early 20s wearing a camouflage baseball hat, a gray jacket and black gloves, left in a silver Impala and was last seen traveling westbound on West Cold Spring Road.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he caused a disturbance and was being disrespectful to employees at Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., at 11:15 p.m. Feb. 3.

Greenfield police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with five rescue calls and two fire calls between Jan. 28 and Feb. 3.
