Police Report: Dec. 27

ROBBERY

An armed robbery was reported at a home in the 4200 block of South Ravinia Drive at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 23. The caller said three people with handguns followed her into the garage and held her family at gunpoint. The robbers, described as Hispanic males wearing all black with their faces covered, took items from the family before leaving. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY

Copper wire was stolen from a substation in the 900 block of West Coldspring Road prior to 10 a.m. Dec. 17. The rear door was pried open.

Milwaukee Acupuncture and Health Center, 6510 W. Layton Ave., was broken into between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 and 8 a.m. Dec. 20. The back door was kicked in. Nothing was taken.

THEFT

Two glass lanterns were stolen off a porch in the 3900 block of South 120th Street between Nov. 9 and Nov. 29. The theft was reported at 10:40 a.m. Dec. 17.

A gym bag containing workout clothes was stolen from a locked car in the 8400 block of West Layton Avenue between 7 and 10 p.m. Dec. 17. One of the vehicle's windows was broken to gain entry.

A purse was stolen from a locked car in the 4900 block of South Root River Parkway prior to 3:15 p.m. Dec. 18. A passenger-side window was broken to gain entry.

A purse was stolen from a locked vehicle at the Southwest Suburban YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., prior to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18. A window was broken to gain entry.

A purse containing an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from an unlocked car in the 4200 block of South 61st Street between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19. She also was arrested on a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrant.

A purse was stolen from a locked vehicle at Davita Dialysis, 7740 W. Layton Ave., between 8 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. Dec. 19. The driver-side door was pried open.

A cellphone was stolen from the girl's locker room at Greenfield Middle School, 3200 W. Barnard Ave., about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 19.

A purse was stolen from a locked car at Greenfield Veterinary Clinic, 5981 S. 27th St., between 2 and 6 p.m. Dec. 19. One of the vehicle's windows was broken to gain entry.

An American flag was stolen from the 3200 block of West Bridge Street about 10:15 p.m. Dec. 19.

A television was stolen at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., about 3:10 p.m. Dec. 20.

A 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting three bottles of vodka, valued at $76, at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 20.

A vehicle's rear license plate was stolen in the parking lot at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., prior to 10:12 p.m. Dec. 20.

An air-conditioning unit was stolen from a home in the 5600 block of South 43rd Street prior to 11:25 a.m. Dec. 21.

A television was stolen from the backseat of a locked car in the 4500 block of West Layton Avenue prior to 8:40 p.m. Dec. 23. A window was smashed to gain entry.

An employee called police after a man and woman shoplifted an undisclosed amount of merchandise at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 23. The two drove off in a gray Toyota Camry. Police have the license plate number of the car and are following up.

DRUG POSSESSION

Officers responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle arrested a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man for possession of marijuana and a girl for possession of ecstasy in the parking lot at McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 18.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 57-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving when he fled after a hit-and-run collision on Interstate 43 at Loomis Road at 5:15 a.m. Dec. 20. His blood-alcohol content was 0.14.

A 41-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4400 block of West Coldspring Road at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 23. His BAC was unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

A 36-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries after a collision at 76th Street and Coldspring Road at 2:49 p.m. Dec. 22. The driver of the car she was in, a 19-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for failure to notify police of an accident and not having insurance. The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old Milwaukee woman, was cited for inattentive driving.

A 23-year-old man was arrested after he struck a car in the 4200 block of South 76th Street and then left the scene shortly before 10 p.m. Dec. 21.

VANDALISM

A vehicle's window was smashed in the 8400 block of West Layton Avenue prior to 10 p.m. Dec. 17.

A glass entry door was broken at Aurora Health Center, 6901 W. Edgerton Ave., between 9 and 11:40 p.m. Dec. 19.

A truck was spray-painted in the 4000 block of South 35th Street between 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 23. The paint came off when rubbed; there was no permanent damage to the vehicle.

OTHER

A 41-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody for recklessly endangering safety after he threatened a woman with a knife in the 3600 block of South 46th Street at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 17.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he got out of his car and started pounding on the windows of a vehicle stopped behind him at a stoplight at Edgerton Avenue and 76th Street about 7:45 p.m. Dec. 17. The driver of the other vehicle honked at him, which apparently provoked the man.

A manager at Pizza Hut, 5051 S. 27th St., called police at 5:42 p.m. Dec. 19 after a man called the restaurant 23 times in one day and threatened to come into the business and "slap the staff." Police believe the same man is responsible for previous incidents of telephone harassment and are following up.

A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight with another man in the parking lot of Petco, 4950 S. 76th St., shortly before 8 p.m. Dec. 19.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he threatened and kicked a cab driver in the 5300 block of West Layton Avenue at 11:20 p.m. Dec. 19.

A 23-year-old man called 911 after a customer service representative refused to accept the return of a laptop computer at Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., at 9:21 a.m. Dec. 20. The caller and three friends who accompanied him left the store after they were advised about store policy and the misuse of 911.

An employee at Stein's Garden Center, 3725 S. 108th St., called police after an unknown woman attempted to purchase merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill at 11:50 a.m. Dec. 21. The store confiscated the bill and no merchandise was taken.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for underage drinking during a traffic stop at Forest Home and Howard avenues at 1:42 a.m. Dec. 23.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for prowling in the 4300 block of South 60th Street at 4:22 a.m. Dec. 23.

Greenfield police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with two rescue calls and one fire call between Dec. 17 and Dec. 23.
