ROBBERY

An unidentified male took a woman's purse during a strong armed robbery in the 2800 block of West Ramsey Avenue shortly after 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2. He is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build, wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, black baseball cap and red-and-black Nike tennis shoes. He was last seen running northwest towards an apartment complex. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY

Jewelry was taken from a residence in the 4600 block of West Cold Spring Road between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 5. An investigation is ongoing.

THEFT

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for taking a cellphone at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 1.

A woman reported her purse was taken out of her shopping cart at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., prior to 3 p.m. Oct. 1.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested for taking 600 bus tickets valued at $2.25 each at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., at 7:45 a.m. Oct. 2.

An in-dash CD receiver and an MP3 player were taken from a car parked in the 4800 block of South 108th Street between 9 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. Oct. 3.

Four cars were broken into in the 4800 block of South 108th Street between 9 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. Oct. 3. It was unknown if anything was taken from the vehicles. Police are following up with the vehicle owners.

A 42-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 4.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., shortly after 10 p.m. Oct. 4.

A stereo was taken from a car in the 3600 block of South 32nd Street prior to 2:30 a.m. Oct. 5.

A digital media player was taken at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., prior to 8:25 a.m. Oct. 5.

Two unidentified males shoplifted liquor by placing it in a backpack at Sendik's, 7901 W. Layton Ave., at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 5.

Two men shoplifted about 25 Blu-ray Discs from Walmart, 4500 S. 108th St., on Oct. 2. Police have video surveillance of the theft and are seeking the two known suspects.

An 8-foot, silver 2008 Haulmark enclosed trailer containing more than $10,000 worth of DJ equipment was taken from a driveway in the 5800 block of South 41st Street between 2:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 6. Police are investigating.

A license plate was taken off a car in the lot at Budget Cinema, 4475 S. 108th Street, between 12:30 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. Oct. 6.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a felon and drunken driving on Cold Spring Road and Forest Home Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Oct. 4. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.13.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 4800 block of South 27th Street at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted theft from a vehicle after a resident reported several males in a gold van were looking into the windows of her car in the 4800 block of South 108th Street at 10:35 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on 108th Street and Beloit Road at 11 p.m. Oct. 6.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 52-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on South 37th Street and West Howard Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 2. His preliminary BAC was 0.08.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5000 block of South 60th Street at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 2. His preliminary BAC was 0.20.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon (knife) in the 3900 block of South 27th Street at 2:35 a.m. Oct. 6. His BAC was unavailable.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after she struck a vehicle in the parking lot at Scott E's Pub, 3800 S. 108th St., at 2 a.m. Oct. 7. Her BAC was unavailable.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 4100 block of South 76th Street at 2:20 a.m. Oct. 7. Her BAC was unavailable.

VANDALISM

The rear window of a car was smashed while it was parked in the 8300 block of West Howard Avenue between late evening Oct. 4 and early morning Oct. 5.

A mailbox was knocked over and damaged in the 4000 block of South 91st Place shortly after 1 a.m. Oct. 7.

OTHER

Two girls were cited for disorderly conduct after a fight at Greenfield Middle School, 3200 W. Barnard Ave., at 3 p.m. Oct. 2.

A man who stated he was going door-to-door inquiring about residents' political views for his business was pushed by a man at a house in the 4700 block of South 39th Street at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 2. Officers spoke to both men and they were advised about their behavior.

A 31-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct after he allegedly threatened a young boy in the 4600 block of South 90th Street on Oct. 4.

A 12-year-old boy was arrested for theft after a manager told police the boy lied to him about being with a birthday party group in order to ride go-carts all day for free at Lightspeed, 4251 S. 27th St., at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 7.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was involved in a fight in the hallway of a building in the 4300 block of West Loomis Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7.

Greenfield police assisted with five rescue calls and one fire call between Oct. 1 and Oct. 7.
