Police Report: April 17

BURGLARY

Six new tires were taken from the shop area of Two Guys Automotive, 4280 S. 108th St., between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 7. The suspect likely entered a service door that wasn't pulled closed and took the new tires from the service bay. The suspect was described as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 40 to 50 years old, weighing 220 with short hair, and driving an early 1990s Chevy white panel van. Police are investigating.

Several items were taken from a garage in the 8900 block of West Allerton Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. April 9. An investigation is pending.

Several items of jewelry, $250 cash and $200 in assorted coins were taken from a residence in the 4900 block of West Maple Leaf Court sometime between April 5 and April 9.

THEFT

Change and miscellaneous items were taken from two unlocked cars in the 4500 block of West Anthony Drive prior to 7 a.m. April 9.

Computer equipment and a purse were taken out of a locked car parked by the back door of Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., between 10:20 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. April 9. The front passenger side window was smashed to gain access to the vehicle.

An air-conditioning unit was taken in the 5100 block of West Layton Avenue prior to 3 p.m. April 9.

A driver left without paying for an undisclosed amount of gas at Phil's Gas & Grocery, 6745 W. Forest Home Ave., at 3:45 p.m. April 9. The driver, in a baby blue GMC Suburban, then struck the clerk who was attempting to stop the vehicle. Police are seeking the suspect and a warrant has been issued.

A 32-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting beer at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 8:55 p.m. April 9.

An unidentified male suspect shoplifted DVD box sets at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., the evening of April 9.

A 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested for shoplifting shampoo, energy liquid and gel pomade at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 6:55 p.m. April 10. Both suspects fled the scene but were located by police.

A male suspect took a painting from the restroom at El Beso, 5030 S. 74th St., at 7:30 p.m. April 10. The theft was reported to management after the suspect "bumped" into several customers on his way out of the business and the customers advised the business the man was hiding a painting under his jacket. Police have identified a suspect and are following up.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting two men's shavers at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 10:35 a.m. April 11.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting a CD at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., at 1 p.m. April 11.

An employee reported her wallet was taken from the office at Oklahoma Pediatrics, 3365 S. 103rd St., at 4:50 p.m. April 11.

A cell phone was taken from a vehicle parked at Carrabbas, 4765 S. 76th St., prior to 6:30 p.m. April 11.

A 47-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting Advil and an electric razor at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 10:45 p.m. April 12.

The front license plate was taken off a vehicle in the 8500 block of West Waterford Avenue prior to 3:45 p.m. April 12.

A gazing ball was taken from a yard in the 4500 block of South 119th Street between 8 p.m. April 11 and noon April 12.

A driver left without paying for $60 of gas at Welk's, 8333 W. Layton Ave., at 5:30 p.m. April 14.

Two license plates were taken off a vehicle in the 5900 block of South 32nd Street prior to 1 p.m. April 15.

A school book, notebook and computer hard drive were taken from a classroom at Greenfield High School, 6300 W. Layton Ave., prior to 2:30 p.m. April 15.

A digital media player and a backpack were taken from an employee's car parked in the side lot at Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., prior to 3:55 p.m. April 15.

A blue women's Next bike and an orange-and-red Schwinn chopper edition kid's bike were taken from the driveway of a residence in the 4100 block of South 89th Street between 5 p.m. April 14 and 1 p.m. April 15.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 20-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 4500 block of South 27th Street at 2:20 a.m. April 12.

A 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine after police pulled him over for operating after suspension on South 35th Street and West Wilbur Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. April 13.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 4200 block of South 27th Street at 8:30 a.m. April 13.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 6700 block of West English Meadows Drive at 4:30 p.m. April 15.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 23-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on South 27th Street and West College Avenue at 1:20 a.m. April 9. His preliminary blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 5900 block of South 27th Street at 1:40 a.m. April 9. Her preliminary BAC was 0.10.

A 26-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, and carrying a concealed weapon in the 3600 block of South 116th Street at 1:25 a.m. April 10. The man was arrested after his friend crashed a motorcycle on a bike path. The injured biker, a 26-year-old man, was also arrested for drunken driving, first offense.

A 51-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4500 block of South 108th Street at 8:20 p.m. April 12. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 55-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, after he was seen laying in the road after an accident on West Loomis Road and West Layton Avenue at 9:28 p.m. April 12. The suspect was conveyed to Froedtert Hospital.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 3500 block of South 108th Street at 1:25 a.m. April 13. She was also taken into custody for an outstanding warrant with the East Troy Police Department. Her preliminary BAC was 0.14.

A 42-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on South 60th Street and West Howard Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. April 14. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after she struck a light pole with her SUV on South 76th Street and West Layton Avenue, then left the scene at 2:18 a.m. April 15. The vehicle was located, unoccupied, in the Verizon parking lot. Her preliminary BAC was 0.14.

VANDALISM

An obscenity was spray-painted on the passenger side of a vehicle in the 4300 block of South 43rd Street between midnight and 6 a.m. April 10.

Two vehicles were spray-painted while parked in a driveway in the 6000 block of West Bottsford Avenue prior to 7:50 a.m. April 10.

Four mailboxes were spray-painted in the 4100 block of South 97th Street prior to 11:15 a.m. April 10.

Three smiley faces were spray-painted on the front of a residence in the 4400 block of South 67th Street between 7:30 p.m. April 9 and 4 a.m. April 10.

A vehicle was scratched while it was parked in the 10200 block of West Cold Spring Road prior to 7:15 a.m. April 11.

An employee reported a window was broken on his vehicle while it was parked at the YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., at 12:15 p.m. April 11.

The front window of a residence was damaged by an unknown object in the 3400 block of West Alvina Avenue prior to 10:40 p.m. April 13.

A window was broken on three vehicles parked at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., prior to 3:30 p.m. April 15.

OTHER

A 59-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he got into a physical altercation with his neighbor in the 3800 block of South 37th Street at 6:15 p.m. April 9.

A 44-year-old woman was cited for dog at large after her German shepherd attacked a man while he was out walking with his daughter in the 4400 block of South Placid Drive prior to 7:50 p.m. April 12.

FIRE

Greenfield firefighters and police responded after a resident reported seeing flames coming from F&F Tire, 7425 W. Holmes Ave., at 3:40 p.m. April 12. The flames were found to be from a trash bin on the side of the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation and arson has not been ruled out.

Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with three rescue calls and three fire calls between April 9 and April 15.
