ROBBERY
Police responded to an armed robbery at Sally Beauty Supply, 4200 S. 76th St., at 7:35 p.m. April 4. The unidentified suspect, described as a tall black male with a thin build and wearing a tan Nautica jacket, red shoes and a cap, displayed a handgun and obtained money from the register. The suspect also stole a clipper, valued at $300. The suspect fled in an older vehicle and was last seen driving toward South 76th Street.
BURGLARY
Police responded to a reported burglary at a residence in the 3700 block of South 47th Street at 1:30 a.m. April 4. A list of items stolen from the residence was unavailable at the time of the report.
A DVR and a computer monitor were stolen from a laundry area at an apartment complex in the 4000 block of South 65th Street before 3 p.m. April 5.
A 42-inch flat-screen TV, $25 in U.S. coins and $155 cash was reported stolen from an apartment in the 4200 block of South Ravinia Drive at 10:40 p.m. April 6. The unidentified suspect(s) gained entry to the apartment through a bedroom window.
THEFT
A 30-year-old man was arrested for theft after he was seen stealing a dealer plate from a rental car at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 5839 S. 27th St., at 9 a.m. April 2. Police stopped his vehicle on the South 27th Street off-ramp and he was taken into custody for the theft and an outstanding warrant.
A 22-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting personal care items, diapers, baby ointment and soap at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 10:12 p.m. April 2.
A digital camera was stolen from a vehicle in the 3900 block of West Honey Creek Circle between 5:15 p.m. April 2 and 6:45 a.m. April 3.
A 26-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting when he was seen hiding a digital camera in his pants at Best Buy, 4601 S. 76th St., at 12:30 p.m. April 3.
An unidentified amount of change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3600 block of West Abbott Avenue at 12:55 p.m. April 3.
A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested for shoplifting sunglasses at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4 p.m. April 3. The 20-year-old suspect was also cited for prowling.
The driver of a gold vehicle left without paying for $51 of gas at Welks, 8333 W. Layton Ave., at 4:15 p.m. April 3. The vehicle was last seen driving eastbound on West Layton Avenue.
A backpack containing two school books was stolen from a unlocked vehicle parked in the 4000 block of West Abbott Avenue before 4:15 p.m. April 3.
A 28-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting Starbucks Frappucino drinks at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 4:40 p.m. April 5.
An employee at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., reported an unidentified suspect stole an undetermined amount of merchandise and then fled in a silver Chevy Lumina that was waiting for him in the parking lot at 8 p.m. April 5.
Prescription drugs were allegedly stolen out of a vehicle parked in the 7100 block of West Southridge Drive before 2:25 p.m. April 6.
A manager at Pet Smart, 5005 S. 74th St., reported flea and tick products were stolen from the store at 4:45 p.m. April 6. The thefts took place April 4.
A 66-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 9:10 p.m. April 7.
A 35-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:10 p.m. April 8. The woman was also cited for obstructing after giving police a false name during her arrest.
ASSAULT
A 19-year-old man was arrested for battery after he physically assaulted another male in the 4200 block of South 61st Street shortly before 3 p.m. April 3.
DRUG POSSESSION
A 44-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 4:05 p.m. April 4.
DRUNKEN DRIVING
A 30-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on 92nd Street and Forest Home Avenue at 3:40 a.m. April 7. His blood alcohol content was not available at the time of the report.
A 22-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and hit and run after he struck and knocked over a pole on 92nd Street and Howard Avenue at 2:30 a.m. April 7 and then fled the scene. The suspect was pulled over by police on 92nd Street and Plainfield, where he was taken into custody. His preliminary BAC was 0.17.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4000 block of West Coldspring Road at 3:45 a.m. April 7. His BAC was unavailable at the time of the report.
A 57-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on 60th Street and Howard Avenue at 8:35 p.m. April 7. His BAC was unavailable at the time of the report.
VANDALISM
A caller reported his vehicle was broken into and his gas tank/cap was found open while it was parked in the 5000 block of South 36th Street at 6:45 p.m. April 3.
A window was smashed on a vehicle parked in the 4400 block of South 108th Street before 8:55 p.m. April 7. The victim told police he did not believe anything was stolen from the vehicle.
OTHER
A 51-year-old woman was arrested for passing a forged prescription/prescription fraud at Walgreens, 4296 S. 76th St., at 7:25 p.m. April 4.
Greenfield police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with four rescue calls and two fire calls between April 2 and April 8.
