Police Report: March 13

March 13, 2012

BURGLARY

A padlock, lawn mower, ladders and several gardening tools were stolen from a backyard shed in the 10300 block of West Dreyer Place prior to 4:55 p.m. March 6. Several screen windows were cut on the residence, but no one entered. Police are investigating.

A residence in the 4200 block of South 68th Street was broken into and vandalized and a set of keys was stolen between 2 and 7 p.m. March 10. Police are investigating.

THEFT

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting women's clothing at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 9 p.m. March 5.

A red 1999 GMC Yukon was stolen from Diamond Jim Motors, 5265 S. 27th St., between the late evening hours of March 5 and 11:30 a.m. March 6.

A cell phone was stolen out of a company vehicle parked at Russ Darrow Mazda, 3520 S. 108th St., sometime between March 2 and 5.

A radio amplifier, speakers, a GPS unit and headphones were stolen from vehicle in the 6100 block of South 42nd Street between the late evening hours of March 5 and early morning hours of March 6.

An employee at Ultimate Beach LTD, 6160 W. Layton Ave., reported an unknown suspect ran into the store, stole items off the counter and fled at 3:12 p.m. March 6. The suspect, a white male wearing denim shorts, a tan coat or shirt, shoes with no socks and carrying a backpack or satchel over his shoulder, was last seen running westbound on West Layton Avenue.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting a men's shirt and baseball cap at TJ Maxx, 4200 S. 76th St., at 5:50 p.m. March 6. She was also taken into custody for bail jumping.

A welder was reported stolen from a business in the 3300 block of South 108th Street at 8 a.m. March 7.

Stereo speakers were stolen from a vehicle at the park-and-ride lot, 4800 S. 108th St., prior to 4 p.m. March 7.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for employee theft at Walmart, 4500 S. 108th St., at 8:15 p.m. March 7.

A 2012 DVD navigation disc was reported stolen from a new vehicle by a customer who was taking a test drive at John Paul's Buick, 3615 S. 108th St., at 1:35 p.m. March 9. The suspect, who test drove a 2012 Buick Enclave, was seen "messing with" the DVD navigation prior to the test drive. Police are following up.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 11:35 a.m. March 10. She was also cited for disorderly conduct for fighting with employees trying to detain her until police arrived.

A catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle in the 10000 block of West Beloit Road between the evening hours of March 9 and noon March 10.

A pink Motorola Atrix cell phone was stolen from a customer at Romines, 6125 S. 27th St., around 12:30 a.m. March 10.

A laptop computer and printer were reported stolen from a residence in the 7500 block of West Forest Home Avenue at 3:30 p.m. March 10. There were no signs of forced entry; police are investigating.

A temporary license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked in the 4200 block of South 76th Street between 8 and 9 p.m. March 10.

Two bottles of prescription medication and $80 cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 9300 block of West Cold Spring Road between 2 and 9:30 a.m. March 11.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 3600 block of South 46th Street at 1:50 a.m. March 5. A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was also cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 5000 block of South 108th Street at 9:15 p.m. March 6.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St., shortly after 11 a.m. March 7.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on West Loomis Road and West Layton Avenue at 2:45 p.m. March 8.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of heroin and a 24-year-old woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia at Pick N Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 6:20 p.m. March 9. An employee called police after seeing the man in the store after he was banned from all Pick 'n Save stores for past criminal behavior.

A 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were arrested for possession of marijuana and narcotics (oxycodone) after they were seen slumped over in a vehicle by the gas pumps at Sai-Mart, 4715 S. 27th St., at 6:30 a.m. March 10.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving on South 108th Street and West Beloit Road at 1:20 a.m. March 7. Her blood alcohol content was .16.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) and possession of marijuana in the 4300 block of West Anthony Drive at 2:45 a.m. March 8. His blood alcohol content was .19.

A 36-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and possession of cocaine in the 3500 block of South 51st Street at 5:10 a.m. March 8. A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unavailable.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) in the 8400 block of West Coldspring Road after he was seen swerving, going under the speed limit and striking the median on the expressway shortly after 10 p.m. March 8. His was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after she almost struck a pole and skipped over a median near West Loomis Road and West Layton Avenue at 2:10 a.m. March 9. Her blood alcohol content was unavailable at the time of the incident report.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after she appeared to be passed out in her vehicle on South 43rd Street and West Bottsford Avenue at 6:20 a.m. March 10. Her blood alcohol content was not available.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in the 3900 block of South 104th Street at 10:30 p.m. March 10. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) in the 4500 block of South 60th Street at 1:55 a.m. March 11. Her blood alcohol content was unavailable.

VANDALISM

An unknown suspect(s) smeared dog feces on a car parked in the 4300 block of West Anthony Drive between 5:30 and 7:56 p.m. March 6.

OTHER

A 16-year-old girl was arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking after causing a disturbance and threatening to kill an employee at AT&T, 4739 S. 76th St., at 3:10 p.m. March 5.

A 27-year-old woman was issued a citation for leaving her car running with the keys in the ignition after a police officer noticed a van with three small children inside in the parking lot at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., shortly after 4 p.m. March 8. The woman told police she ran into the store to get a money order and didn't want to bring the children with her, so she left the car running to keep them warm. The officer warned the woman that future violations could result in a criminal charge.

FIRE

Police and fire officials responded to a vehicle fire in the 10100 block of West Cold Spring Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. March 8. One vehicle started on fire and that spread to another vehicle. There was no cause for the fire listed in the report, but the origin was not considered suspicious.

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 3800 block of South 38th Street at 11:40 a.m. March 9.

Greenfield police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with two rescue calls and two fire calls between March 5 and 11.
