THEFT

A catalytic converter was stolen off a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner parked in the 4100 block of South 60th Street prior to 8:15 a.m. Oct. 3.

A license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4800 block of South 74th Street prior to 3:15 p.m. Oct. 3.

The driver of a white Chevy Blazer left without paying for $53 of gas at Mobil Gas, 6745 W. Forest Home Ave., at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 3.

A black backpack containing a wallet, $30, checkbook, credit cards and keys was stolen at McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., prior to 4:25 p.m. Oct. 3. The victim told police that she left her backpack sitting on a chair and when she came back it was gone.

A license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4000 block of South 91st Place prior to noon Oct. 4.

A 45-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting lip gloss at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 7:25 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 43-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting DVDs by concealing them in a suitcase at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at 8:20 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 38-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for shoplifting an entertainment center and a Dyson vacuum at Walmart, 4500 S. 108th St., prior to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The three fled the scene in a red Grand Prix and were found on the freeway by police.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting at Half Price Books, 5032 S. 74th St., at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 6. While in custody the man was also charged with shoplifting at Barnes and Noble, 4935 S. 76th St., at an earlier time/date.

A 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting at Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6.

Four unknown subjects in a silver Chevy truck stole several cardboard bales worth about $250 each from Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at 12:45 a.m. Oct. 7.

A 46-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting $73 of groceries at Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 7.

Change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 3500 block of South 49th Street between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 6 a.m. Oct. 8.

A GPS unit and some change was stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage in the 4700 block of West Morgan Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 6 a.m. Oct. 8.

Thefts from four unlocked vehicles were reported in the 3500 block of South 48th Street between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 6 a.m. Oct. 8.

Rims were stolen off a Pontiac Grand Am parked in the 5100 block of South 48th Street between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 6 a.m. Oct. 8.

Theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 4500 block of West Anthony Drive between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 6 a.m. Oct. 8.

A caller reported the theft of a video game console, a bicycle and other items from her residence in the 4800 block of West Van Beck Avenue prior to 3:45 Oct. 9. The caller also told police the suspect tried to sell the stolen items at area shops along 51st Street and Howard Avenue.

A woman called 911 to report an unknown woman walked into her residence in the 5000 block of South 37th Street and asked for money before fleeing in a cream-colored Hyundai Sonata II prior to 4:20 p.m. Oct. 9.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 36-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody for drugged driving, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 4700 block of South 76th Street at 2 a.m. Oct. 3.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 9200 block of West Layton Avenue at 9 p.m. Oct. 3.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 3400 block of South 108th Street at 6:05 p.m. Oct. 4.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer after he was seen smoking marijuana in the Public Storage lot, 4750 S. 108th St., at 12:25 a.m. Oct. 6.

A 59-year-old man was arrested for possession of narcotics and operating a vehicle after revocation in the 12300 block of West Beloit Road at 2:40 a.m. Oct. 6.

A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana while police were investigating a possible animal cruelty complaint in the 4000 block of South 35th Street at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 6. The man denied harming his animal.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 28-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense), carrying a concealed weapon and possession of narcotics during a traffic stop in the 5300 block of West Layton Avenue at 11:25 p.m. Oct. 7. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) at 48th Street and Morgan Avenue at 12:55 a.m. Oct. 8. A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unavailable.

VANDALISM

A bus shelter at 76th Street and Cold Spring Road was spray-painted prior to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 4.

Graffiti on electrical poles was reported in the 4300 block of South 76th Street at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 4.

A tire, valued at $50, was slashed on a car in the 4600 block of South 50th St. between 1 p.m. Oct. 2 and 9 p.m. Oct. 4.

A resident reported she found a scissors stuck into a her car tire in the 4600 block of South 50th Street prior to 10:50 a.m. Oct. 6.

OTHER

A 40-year-old man was issued a citation for dogs at large after his two Rottweilers were running loose in the 3400 block of West Lynndale Avenue at 2 p.m. Oct. 5.

A woman reported that an unknown man standing next to her garage in the 4500 block of South Greenridge Circle asked her to perform a sexual act on him shortly before 4:15 p.m. Oct. 5. Police checked the area but could not find the man.

A 28-year-old woman was issued a municipal citation for excessive noise after she was heard screaming and yelling in the 10100 block of West Cold Spring Road at 12:20 a.m. Oct. 7.

A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for screaming and yelling in a drunken celebration of the Brewers' victory in the 3600 block of South 53rd Street shortly after 9:15 p.m. Oct. 7.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he tried to start a fight with a man in the lot at McDonald's, 5040 S. 76th St., at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 8.

A caller reported a male and female arguing and running up and down the street in the 3600 block of South Rivershire Drive at 2:40 a.m. Oct. 8. Police contacted the subjects who said they were not fighting, just celebrating the Brewers win. Police warned the couple about noise violations.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a man reported he found an unknown man sleeping in his vehicle in the 10500 block of West Pallottine Drive prior to 6:30 a.m. Oct. 8. Police found the man in the 10400 block of West Pallottine and took him into custody.

A 48-year-old man called police to report his 9-year-old son is out of control, throwing items and has locked them out of their house in the 5900 block of South 32nd Street at 9:55 p.m. Oct. 9. The boy eventually let him back into the house, and the man was advised that the Greenfield Police Department does not arrest 9-year-olds.

Greenfield police responded to two domestic violence calls, two rescue calls and three fire calls between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9.

FIRE CALLS

A garage fire was reported in the 4600 block of South 50th Street at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4. The fire was mostly extinguished by a neighbor before police and fire officials arrived. The fire started in the garbage and recycling bin outside the garage. Arson has not been ruled out. The incident is under investigation.

An electrical wire broke and started a small fire in the 5900 block of South 32nd Street at 11:50 a.m. Oct. 7. Fire officials responded and extinguished the fire, the cause of which was unavailable.
