Nicole Marie Bell and Bryan Michael Schmidt of Overland Park, Kan., were married Sept. 17, 2011, at the Church of the Resurrection Wesley Covenant Chapel in Leawood, Kan.
Parents of the bride are John Bell of Greenfield and Alan and Kathleen Harrington of South Milwaukee. The groom's parents are Michael and Donna Schmidt of Harlan, Iowa.
The Rev. Jeffrey Kirby officiated the 1 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at La Joie Events in Overland Park.
The bride's accessories included her grandmother's pearls and a wrap made from her mother's dress material, both wrapped around her bouquet.
Katrina Bell of Waukesha, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Leah Condon of Wichita, Kan., friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Coffey of Overland Park, Allison Stapleton of South Milwaukee and Chantel Schmidt of Harlan.
Jenna Brenner of Ames, Iowa, cousin of the bride, was the bride's personal attendant. Brianna Moore of Nevada, Iowa, and Lindsey Stapleton of South Milwaukee were flower girls.
Justin Leonard of Sioux City, S.D., cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Stephen Schmidt of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Chris Coffey of Overland Park, Ryan Andersen of Las Vegas and Collin Schmidt of Harlan.
Jeremy Stapleton of South Milwaukee was the ring bearer. Ushers were Clark Bowden of Kansas City, Mo., Nathan Leonard, of Waterloo, Iowa, Jacob Andersen of Kalona, Iowa, and Cory McDermott of Austin, Texas.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of South Milwaukee High School and a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in construction engineering. She is employed as a project engineer at Turner Construction Co. in Kansas City, Mo.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Harlan Community High School and a 2008 graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in construction engineering. He is also employed as a project engineer at Turner Construction Co.
The groom surprised the bride with a honeymoon in Cancun.
