State Senator Mary Lazich’s Statement on Joint Finance Committee Approving Audit of Government Accountability Board

State Senator Mary Lazich  today introduced a motion, as a member of the Joint Finance Committee (JFC), requiring the Legislative Audit Bureau (LAB) to conduct a full audit of the Government Accountability Board (GAB).  The motion was approved by the Joint Finance Committee with a 12-4 vote with the 12 Republican committee members supporting the motion.  Senator Lazich released the following statement about the Government Accountability Board audit.

Since July 2012, I have been requesting an audit of the Government Accountability Board (GAB) and was thrilled the Joint Audit Committee Co-Chairs scheduled a meeting to approve the audit.  Last week Friday, April 19 2013, the Committee Chairs sent out a notice the meeting to approve the audit was cancelled.
