State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Special Session and ObamaCare Update
During Special Session the Assembly approved legislation to extend coverage to the thousands of Wisconsinites utilizing BadgerCare and the State’s Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Program (HIRSP). Coverage will be extended for three months due to troubling problems with the ObamaCare website. The Senate’s Special Session is scheduled December 19, 2013.
I want to talk to you about the challenges people face due to the failed rollout of Obamacare, and what we are doing to protect them here in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Department of Administration Released State Comprehnsive Annual Financial Report for 12-13 Fiscal Year
The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) released the State of Wisconsin’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013. The CAFR is prepared each year by DOA, Division of Executive Budget and Finance, State Controller’s office.
We just learned that the national unemployment rate last month dropped to the lowest level in five years. That's good news.
Governor Walker Signs Vapor Recovery Act Into Law
Governor Walker signed Senate Bill 346 into law. Senate Bill 346 is 2013 Wisconsin Act 86 and allows the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to issue grants to assist with removal of vapor recovery equipment at gas stations.
