I live in Greenfield with my husband and cat. I work full time. Frugality and simplicity have been a part of my life long before they became popular and it has made life a lot less stressful. I love volunteering, home improvement/decorating, crafting and gardening.
My head is spinning with all the gadgets that are available to us nowadays. I'm on the fence as far as whether or not to purchase an IPad. We have a home computer (desktop); I have a phone that I can access the Web with (nothing fancy); I have a portable DVD player so I can go out on the patio and watch a movie that I rented....and this doesn't happen often. I work full time and when I am home, we are always busy doing something around the house or enjoying the benefits of rummaging, shopping, visiting or home upkeep. Would I really spend that much time on the IPad? I could just opt for another, cheaper option - i.e. a Kindle or Nook or something similar. But, the cost or difference between these other options and the IPad are not the issue. Would I use it? Our friends who have them are retired and have time to sit and read a downloaded book or surf the web, etc. I usually get my books from the thrift stores, rummage sales, friends or the library....
On the other hand, I can wait 2 more years until I have my 30 years in at my company and get the newest and latest electronic gizmo for my anniversary. This year, people with 20+ years in got an IPad, if they chose it from the company. We get anniversary gifts at 10-year intervals.
Do you have one? If not, are you going to get one? Your thoughts?
