If I Were a State Budget Copy, Where Would I Be?
As taxpayers and voters, we have a right to be able to make good decisions based on credible and accurate facts. The issue Wisconsin is facing with the budget is the lack of COMPLETE information available to us to determine for ourselves the exact impact Scott Walker’s decisions are going to have on our daily lives and families as a whole.
I am awe-stricken at how unavailable the ENTIRE copy of the budget is. If I were a state budget copy, where would I be? I know I am not in the hands of the individuals, who are directly affected by the first round of budget cuts. I know I am not in the hands of the people, who will be affected by the budget cuts to follow. I am certain, I am not in the hands of the Wisconsin people to aid them in comprehending and understanding what lies ahead, so they can better prepare and make sound decisions for the future.
What is hidden in the rest of the budget? Where is an actual copy or downloadable, electronic file? I am having a difficult time comprehending why the additional stress needs to be placed on us by keeping resource materials hidden or almost impossible to find? In order for each and every Wisconsin resident to be cognizant and well-versed in conversations, either for or against, in publicly held forums, WE NEED THE COMPLETE BUDGET to read. Where is it?
It is time for each of us to play an active part in our destiny BEFORE we are forced to make a choice or pushed into a way of life we do not want or cannot afford. You can spew out all the statistics you want through the media circus. Statistics can be used to prove any point you want them to. It all depends on how the data is being used, and who is interpreting it. Unless everyone gets themselves up to speed on the FACTS, we will continue to be railroaded and controlled like stringed puppets.
I personally want to be able to be the decision maker in my life and for my family’s well-being.
