My all time favorite thing
Just being me.
That may sound a little weird, but in this day and age of massive self-esteem issues - teens who don't feel popular enough or can't find a hot enough boy or girl to date, parents who don't think they do enough for their kids, adults who feel trapped in a dull career (or worse, adults with no job) - it appears to be a rarity to find someone who likes him or herself.
That's not to say that there is nothing I wouldn't want to change, or that I wish weren't an issue (my weight, my disdain for artificial sweetener, the fact that I am always right [and trust me, if I were wrong once in a while, I might be a little more humble]). But when I take a look at my life, I think I've got it pretty good.
A lovely wife, two great kids, a good job that I enjoy (and that I am damn good at), a hobby, discretionary money, a competitive drive, some skills in the kitchen, a decent house (which is now way, way too big for three people) and a big flat screen TV with cable... all thing that when I reflect, are all pretty good.
So even if Weasel doesn't like my affinity for Barry Manilow (and yes, I did see him in concert last year) and even if the Devil Reincarnate doesn't like that my heart still beats, and even of other motorists in the snow serve just to get in my way and they become a hazard that they think I am, and even if anonymous internet people don't like that I don't like bowling shirts without a collar doesn't diminish the fact that I like myself. And there is nothing wrong with that.
And if there is, so what.
